years ago today that Anne and I got married and like then it was overcast but back then the late afternoon had turned to snow, rain the works. Since Anne and I are not Christian we decided to go to a JP and I had the license already the JP fee and Bridget our witness. The ceremony was to be at 3pm. Anne and I drove over to pick Bridget up and that’s when it began to rain and sleet the whole nine yards. Of course I only had a vague idea how to get to Riverbend and at the fork in the road right or left as Anne was waiting for me to make up my mind we collided into a meridian. This caused some damage to the front end of Anne's car but we were able to get the car off the road and I went to use a residence phone after explaining our story. Nobody was hurt or anything. We got a tow truck to take the car off the street to the garage Bridget recommended a few blocks away. So I got us a cab and we barely got to the JP address. The cab driver had difficulties taking Anne’s credit card but finally it registered and we got married. After that the JP offered to drive us to the garage which was nice of him and after a few hours wait we were able to get the car up and working around 7pm forcing the garage owner to pull in extra duty. After that, we drove Bridget home and we decided to go have a nice dinner at Kelsey’s to round out the day. What a mess but we got married and it’s been up and down since then but for the most part I have no regrets.
I’m having the first coffee of the day.
We got to bed about 2:30am and I slept just fine from there. I got up at 6 to feed the cats and since I had no email to answer I decided to finish off my story. The rough draft came in at something like 3,500 words. I have a title for it but I need to augment the story a bit more. I got an offer to send the story over to an e-zine and when the story is finished, I’ll send it over. If it gets accepted then I’ll post a link and give more details. I’ve got a real nice pov shift change in the story as well, which I like, and work’s well.
This
afternoon, we’re heading off to work. JT will gave the hockey game on the radio
to keep track of. I think Carolina is in town tonight. We’ve got a lot to get
pumped out over since they won game #7 last spring/Stanley Cup and they are the
Stanley Cup Champions. That game marked the 7th Edmonton Oiler
Stanley Cup appearance. We won 5 Cups out of 7. Not to bad. Also, the City will
have extra cars on the train tonight so that’s good news. Anyway, that’s all
for now.
