I'm a baby boomer sci-fi
geek with a laptop.

I was in

bed listening to Coast and I couldn’t sleep. I take back a lot of things I said about Alex Jones. He is Conspiratorial but that’s to a degree and he didn’t put down Masonry as much, at least in lst nights show. I don’t think he even mentioned it. On a scale from 1-10 I’d rate the show an 8.5. I actually enjoy what Jones had to say and there was a lot of Truth to it because he made lots of historical references. He still took liberties. I had a glass of wine last night around 3am hoping that would help me sleep. I woke up at 7:45am to do the cbi thing. I can’t believe I slept for a good 4.45 solid hours. Wow. I went back to bed about 8am and slept until noon, So I had a good 8.5 hours sleep. Not bad for the middle of the week.

I was thinking about going over to Future Shop to see what they had for printers. Anne wants me to get something nice out of my vacation pay and I think what I’m going to do is pay Markus that first week in January. I need a printer so I can read my copy on the train on the way home while I’m waiting and a sturdy folder to keep it in. But I won’t go over today. I’ll go over when it’s time for me to buy. I’d also like to get my wife this shower/massager from Zellers they’ve been advertising on TV and she want’s to get me a Tablemate, those adjustable multi purpose trays. Since she got her aquarium tank my present will be the printer my wife’s Xmas present and I want to treat her to a Sawmill restaurant. She say’s when she’s feeling better. So after Xmas, I’ll go in Boxing Day and work those 7-hour shifts plus that Sat. I don’t mind going in on a Saturday morning if the weather is all right. Next Friday is a short shift because apparently we’re working only 2 hours then we’re heading to the Coast Terrace Inn for our little staff party but tonight I’m giving Tony some notice that I’ll be taking those 3 days off, Saturday, Sunday and Monday. But Boxing day, I’m in for 7 hours and same with the rest of that week next week. So, I think this Xmas should be a nice one.

As for now, I’m going to go back into "POS D" and work the rest of that. I’m going to work the story this month as I’m going to start "F" January 1st. My writing goal is still The little guy here is my 15 year old cat Pledges waiting by the door.

1000 words/day. On the weekends 2K. The first week I hope to get 10k in and 10K/week after that. So, at 10K/week, I hope to have the book done by the first week in April. The I print off a hard copy and begin to read and make a first edit change from there. Do the type ins and work on the first revision. That’ll take up to the rest of April. 2nd type ins and reading May. 2nd Revision, June. August, Polish and a finale reading. I hope to have the book ready for market Labor Day weekend. Then I can work on my EYS series. Book one of that or another stand-alone novel. But I’ll be writing another novel May 1st anyway. I like to always have something I’m writing and something I’m editing. So this way I have 2 projects on the go.

So, what’s on my plate today? Not much. I’m going to Blog this and get to work on POS D and give it the once over for POS E. That way I can work on "E" when I get home. Get ready for "f" tomorrow. "G" Thursday, "H" for Friday. "I" Saturday and "J" for Sunday. I’ll give it the finale once over and it goes out to one of the big markets. I’m actually going to try and break into pro. This is really going to be my first pro submission that isn’t a contest or an anthology. I’m going to do this properly. IRC hard copy, cover letter etc.9x10 envelops the works. It’s then going out to Analog slush pile and I’m going to cover all the pro markets until POS finds a home. I don’t care if it’s 1 cent a word. After work tonight I’ll be working more on POS and then bed. Oh the image below is of me taken in the old office about 3 years ago when I was working mornings
