The first 10K in the bank |
|
I went into work feeling tired but not to bad until one of the guy’s from the front 20 Wayne joined me at Stadium. Ugh, I got in and we did OTH. I though, oh no, 4 hours of hell. Then I changed my spiel around a bit and I was at $249 by 11am feeling good. I ended up with a $30 credit card and $610 on the afternoon. Best total all week. Anyway, after work my intentions were to go to Chapters and I heard the "advance bell for Health sciences center." I ran without even getting my ticket stamped, I flew down the stairs as the train was already there. I barely caught the train, other wise I’d be facing a fifteen-minute wait fir the next train. At Chapters I shopped around but there was nothing I wanted from my "list there" but I found Sean William/Shane Dix’s "Geodisica" Accent and Descent so I picked up both of those in paperback. Peter F Hamilton’s Judas Unchained is available but only in hardcover. For both books I paid, $23.30 after taxes. There are lots of books left there to get and I only need 3 more books for February. I think it’s time to go into the used bookstores soon. I can still go into the special order and I might be doing that sooner then I latter. I had a fifteen-minute wait and I ended up getting home
just after 4pm. It took me 2 hours to get there and back and time spent shopping looking around, I got home and after marking my totals in my calendar and going to fantastic fiction to check on my purchases both books are part of a series but the last one Accent is the most recent and there are no more in the series, so far. Weather wise it was a pleasant day in. Overcast and there was a bit of sunlight poking behind a film of cloud. It certainly wasn’t cold.
I
had a bit of a nap for maybe 40 minutes until Anne came home. She woke me but I
was no worse for wear. I wanted to get at that writing before the Oiler/Flame
game. What a disaster, they lost 4-0 and just before the All Star break. The
worst of it was, Colorado the team just 1 point below us won in their own
building against Detroit.
I
doubt the Oilers will make the playoffs this year.
Other
then that, I completed my +1,200 words or so to break 10K and I have some
pretty good stuff there as well. I really like the direction this novel is
going. So for Saturday I ended up with 1421 words and 10,216 words on the book
so far and it’s going great. I figure if I can keep it going at 10K and even a
bit over, I should have
The
rough draft done by the mid April.
That’s
all for now.
