going into work was pleasant. It’s now confirmed JT will be taking over Tony as the room manager on the 19th of this month. We did another multi-file and I ended up with $350/35 for a total of $385 on the night and a $25 credit card for Easter. Not a bad night. I waited around to catch the closing part of the Oilers 2nd period because it was almost over. I caught the 9:30 train home and came in. Anne was all po’d because I was late. Now she’s starting to cast suspicious eyes at me She had about $8 she gave me in her change because she didn’t want to spend it at work. What the hell? I was initially considering going to Chapters but I stayed around listening to the last bit on that Oiler/Canuck game. When I got home the Oilers lost 5-2. Everyone in our division keeps winning and the Oilers keep losing. They need to make some changes big tine. Rolli is playing lousy, We need a better goal tender but the Kriprusoff’s and the Luongo’s are few and far between plus we need somebody else like Ryan Smyth. I thought Luppol was going to be the other guy for Smyth scoring on a consistent basis. I thought it was going to be Smyth, Luppol, Sykora but that failed to materialize this year. I say, trade Hemsky, Sykora, and Luppol for someone like a Joe Thorton or another Ryan Smyth. We need someone that can put goals in the net.
recharging my camera batteries for the 3rd time. Takes about 6 hours to recharge 4 of them. Not to bad. I’m having great success with this camera since I got it last February from our one and only Provincial resource cheaques. These resource cheaques were based upon 2005 oil and gas royalties and part of Ralph Kline’s "legacy".
So lately our Alberta tar sands have been under the American Govt glass lately and there is talk about accelerating tar sands production to help meet energy needs of the US. All fine and well as long as it’s done responsibly in our favor and helps our economy for years down the road. The Alberta Govt has been in high-level talks with the US Govt wanting to work with us. Hopefully this will buy us some time so we can develop a post recover strategy to deal with the economy after the tar sands have been depleted but at current production levels the tar sands would last another 400 years. If we go ahead and meet America’s suggested levels of about 10million barrels/day the tar sands would run out in about 50 years. The only problem with this is the influx of foreign workers o help extract the oil would be astronomical. I don’t think we need to worry about losing the tar sands anytime soon. It’s estimated that there is something like a trillion barrels of recoverable oil and I think America would rather buy oil from us then the Middle East. Also, there is something else to consider and that is what new fuel source will be developed within the next 50 years. I don’t think it will be fissile fuel based but at the same time, I don’t think we’ll be getting any more resource cheaques anytime soon.
Another thing about tar sands oil is the price factor. It currently costs about $9 to process a barrel of tar sands oil and only $5 for Middle East oil Still tar sands oil might be an attractive substitute to "foreign" oil for America.
