Book shopping and other stories. |

I had a great shift at work ending up doing $650 calling WCS/CDIH flip flopping between both. After work I boarded the Health Sciences train and headed to the University and after a brief wait there got off at Chapters and found the WOTF anthology and others there and I picked up what I was told was a stand-alone novel but this was my fault. I should have picked up another anthology. The Mike Resnick anthology I wanted wasn’t there but there were others. Good news both books came to just over $20 and change, which I had on hand. I didn’t have to break my last $10. The WOTF was under $10, I missed my bus that I saw through the store windows so I looked around at the discount books. I saw Michael Chrichton’s book “State of fear” also for about $10 in hardcover yet. I had a brief wait for the bus and another for the train but I felt the way home was less time waiting then the last time I was out at Chapters but I got home around 4 pm.
When I got home, Anne wasn’t in. I choked over my purchase at Fantastic Fiction and found the book I picked up is part of a series. I’ll be glad when my vision is restored. I should have bought another anthology. I went in at 5pm and had a nap but sleep was hard to come by. I think I might have dozed off here and there but I’m not refreshed. I’m not tired either. I’m a little disappointed that there is “Fantasy in WOTF, I don’t think they had fantasy stories when I was buying the book in the early mid 1990’s. I’m still going to try and get out a story submission to them before the year is up.
No Oiler hockey on tonight but they play tomorrow before they go on a 7 game road trip. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other games tonight the Oilers are not watching. Like The Wild, as that’s the team we’re trying to catch for a last playoff spot. Even if there was a game on for tonight, the writing comes first. So lets get to it. All for now
