things sometimes just don't want to work.

Like this friggen story editor.

Raw wasn’t bad last night. Umaga won his first title and Vince picked who he wanted to represent him at Wrestle mania. Net well it’s DT’s turn. I think he’s going to pick Kali. On a scale from 1-10 I’d say tonight’s show was a 6.

On my plate this week, I’ve got work today and I’, keeping track of the Oiler/Sens game, other then that not much going on. I’ll be completing my 1000 word/day goal. Possibly 2k. Wednesday not much going on, except I’ll be trying to contact Markus to see if he’s got the funds I sent him.  Thursday I’ll be following up on the other Oiler game as they will be in Columbus and The Wild will be playing the Av’s, yeesh, So not a lot going on this week.  So, this week, not much going on other then scoreboard watching and writing. By Sunday, I hope to be at75K, a rather ambitious goal.

I waited two days and I need to know. It should be about 10:40am in Germany. I hope to hear from him in the morning.

Oh RJS mentioned that the new WOTF #23 will be out in August. Good stuff. I also asked since when has the anthology accepted Fantasy stories? I don’t recall the earlier books I bought in 1990 to consist of Fantasy. Not that I don’t mind. I like some Fantasy. Especially when it has a medieval element to it. So I should narrow my focus down to medieval fantasy. The Terry Goodkind series wasn’t bad but had a far-fetched aspect to it. Far fetched in the fact that it had powerful supernatural characters. P like Conan the Barbarian stuff like that and D&D/EverQuest fantasy. The other thing about fantasy is that there is just too many series.  There aren’t many stand-alone fantasy novels. I don’t know if I can write a fantasy. I like playing it as in D&D and EverQuest. I’d like to read fantasy that doesn’t always have the boy/girl and a Gandalf like character in it with an evil Overlord as in Goodkind. Also, Fantasy novels are usually really thick beasts.

About Horror well, I’ve read some horror like from Jeff Ford, King, Lovecraft. My favorite is Poe of course in that genre. Actually I prefer soft horror that has mystery and atmosphere. I don’t like a lot of gore. So, if I were to write other the SF/F it would be in the horror genre

I’m up a little early to do a cbi thing and then check my email still no word from Markus.

Ok just a word about horror, no I’m not going to split my focus and jump on the horror fad. I barely can tolerate fantasy in the SF/F field. I’ve written a few fantasy short stories but I have yet to market anything. If anything I want to be known for my science fiction work. I’m not an L. Ron Hubbard or a Larry Niven or even a RJS but before I die, I want to be known as a Canadian Science fiction author. Not a dabbler in cross genre fiction specializing in. I might not get a Hugo or even nominated for one but before I die I want to know if I can write commercial science fiction. If I get a film option, great if not that’s all right to. Even awards aren’t everything.
