we went to bed about 2:30am and I sle[t from there until just after 6am, so I had 3.5 hours sleep to get yp and do the cbi thing. About 10am the cats were roaming rails all over in my face. I was getting a little annoyed. Finally they moved on and I managed to squeeze in a few more hours. I think I got 8 or 9 hours but that was just to catch up from yesterday.

I was quite surprised that I was able to work on the outline the way I did before lodge. Speaking about on the way to lodge, because it was on a game night, I was standing underneath the LRT overpass. This is where 118^th Street dips
Down rises and evens out just before Wayne Gretzky dr. Traffic becomes a bottleneck for 1 block. My #8 lodge bus had too let pedestrian traffic on through a stalled lane. I imagine it’s like this every game night before and after the game and has been this way since the Oilers first came into the NHL and probably even before that when it was the oil Kings. With my vision the way it was it was hard to see the bus number until the bus got closer. The same bus driver was there from last month and he dropped me off right at the corner. The evening was nice. Not many of the guys talk with me in the lodge, which is ok. Our lodge is mostly a trade lodge and there is a lot of shop talk going around. I like talking with the visitors from other lodges that show up that sort of thing. I wont be able to do any serious floor work until this vision clears up but our last meeting before summer break will be at Fort Edmonton Park and I’m going to that one since I’ve never been at the lodge there. But I might do the EA working tools. I got a ride back from Neil and it was 11:30pm. It was nice to see the degree done in the short form. I had a good but quiet night. For the most part I was just a bum in a chair all night and that’s the way I wanted it. I was surprised that Anne never started one of her “were you really at the lodge or out with another woman” type tirades because I came in so late but she went and bought her new chair and couch covers from her reward points which is kind of nice.

I wanted to catch the score on the hockey game and all I really wanted to know is if the Oilers had finally won a game last night when the announcer said the Oil had dropped their 9^th strait. It keeps getting worse and worse for these guys. They are not in the playoffs, they don’t care and Lowe got rid of their best player. The Oilers could have been right in the thick of things this year, maybe not a Stanley Cup contender. The only thing that makes last place Carolina this year one, is because of that. They won the Stanley Cup last year. The Oilers could have been a contender as well but Kevin Low didn’t want to keep him. Ryan Smyth isn’t making any more money now but at lest he’ll be in a team hat will want to sign him but there are 12 other teams that want Smyth as well but it’s just a question of money. How much is Smyth worth? Sure he might have had 12 great years with the Oilers and he keeps getting better like Bill Gurin. If Low wont spend 6 million on Smyth he won’t spend 6 million on somebody else. The Oilers put Neilson in the line up last night. The call up from the minors and he scored but nobody else did. Is he the next Ryan Smyth? Maybe. So now the Oilers have dropped 9 strait losses, a team record. They host St, Louis here Saturday night and I’m going to watch that game. That’ll be strait loss number 10!

Yesterday when we did our taxes, I will get back $74 around the end of May Anne around $50, which goes towards her balance owing. My $50 will go towards my printer/scanner. Anne’s on board with this because with the scanner I can (in theory) scan my paperback books into a word doc and read them from the screen. I need to pick up a good scanner that can accomplish this and I’ll be heading over to FS Saturday after work to get some more details.

For tonight, I’m going to pick up my cheaque and see if I got that $30 bonus on my cheaque and see what my bank report will be. Then call Chapters to see if they have the following books for me from a list I made last night, then the job. Then it’s up over to Anne’s job to hand her the cheaque then if I feel up to it and Chapters has any one of the 6 authors in stock, I can head over to Chapters and pick something up before they close because Anne needs the bus pass for after work Saturday. This is another reason why I need a cell phone. Not only to be on the phoning committee at the lodge but also so Anne cam call after work and I can call Chapters for books, that sort of thing.

I realize I have a few broken links and I will try and repair these on the weekend.
