last night and today

last night I happily made my way onto work with my $20 in my little bus pass folder coffee/thermos/pop/sandwiches/pocket calendar, and the usual tools of my trade. I got in to secure my pay cheaque and made myself a coffee. For 19.5 hrs I get including a $30 bonus $189 on my pay cheaque. I banked $1,505 for Xl and they pay me less then $200 pretty amazing. Boy did they ever see me coming. Anyway, I recorded this for prosperity and I had a great night pulling in just over $400 for the 1st half including 2 credit cards, for $50. For that I got a $10 bonus, maybe more today. The lodge is really costing me money but it’s an evening out for me and I enjoy going there for the once or twice a month I’m there. Anyway, after work I walked over to Anne’s job and I gave herm y pay cheaque and a brief chat with her at her dialer. She encouraged me to go to Chapters to get a book, and I figured sure why not. So I went down to Bay Station and took the train over to the University and after a brief wait caught the Whyte Ave bus and got off on 105th st. and into Chapters. Lots to choose from today, so I picked out the “Years Best SF 11” anthology and paid for that. They didn’t have some of the stuff I wrote down on my want list. I probably could have ordered them in but it was already getting late. They had some CJ Cherryh stuff there but I couldn’t say if they are part of a series or not. Next time I’m going to write the titles down and take them home and do a search on Fantastic Fiction before I buy. On my way out they also had on the discount table a LE Modesitt Jr. hard cover but it was part of a series.

Speaking about the lodge and all I think this next installation I’m going to take the Tyler’s chair and begin my accent up to WM. Tyler, Jr. Stewart, Sc. Stewart, Jr. Warden. Sc. Warden. WM. So it’s a 5-year journey to WM. Of course this is stuff any lodge would be more then happy to convey anyway. No big secret of Masonry here.

Morning:
I was dreading the walk outside due to the freezing rain forecast but when I got outside, it was really nice, about –1* slight windchill and nobody around to get in my way. There were also no tag-a-longs as well and a nice leisurely walk into the office. I had my coffee and JT was a but late getting in and we didn’t start until about 10:20am doing ccsd tapes. I got 1 $25 credit card and then over to cancer recovery and I got another $25 credit card with that. Good stuff. One half taps the other acquisition. That’s the way it should be. I ended up with $440. We played this game that whenever one of us got a $35 ccsd we got the box where we’d display it above out monitor $25 for cancer and then Mike had the times written down he’d look at his list and whoever had a the box up got a $5 bonus. I didn’t get anything but it helped to pass the time and before I knew it was going on 1:40pm and home time, another Saturday afternoon done and in the bank. Heading to Carona from behind 1st Edmonton place there was very nice. I was sweating coming out of there. I popped into Tim’s got a medium decafe and went to catch my train. Mike, JT’s assistant in the front 20 rode in with me a bit. Same age as me, nice fellow. I sipped my coffee after he left and got my bus without waiting and gave Anne the bus pass and home. Anne wanted to go out to the B Bell bakery for her Happy b0irthdat cake and I had myself a little snooze for a couple of hours. I feel very good. Anne made a T-bone steak but it was tough. She doesn’t marinade these things as I think they should be but the rest of supper was okay. We were watching the St. Patrick’s day event where they had the weather from the beer tent. Cute. Lots of St. Patrick’s Day drunks in the City.

Right now the Oilers are losing here at Rexall over St. Louis 2-1.  Poor guys. I’d like to see them lose their 11th strait loss but most of this has been due to injuries and not necessarily the Ryan Smyth trade although I suspect that still has a lot to do with it.

Anyway Anne is a bit wiped out and doesn’t feel like going all the way down to the Sawmill because we were there in December so instead she want’s to go over to Bp’s just over here and we can go to Fs on our way and look at the printers on our way since fs is just across the street. Anyway that’s all for me for now.
