What a day so far! |

it got a bit crazy there about ten minutes ago when I accidentally turned on the wrong stove element. A pot Anne left on the back burner caught fire. I heard the smoke alarm go off, I ran out of here in a blur to see a small fire on the stove. I rushed for the nearest towel or something I could find to remove the pot. I grabbed something from the bathroom and removed the pot and was able to put out the flame before it caught onto something else. Anne was still sleeping as all this was going on. So she comes out here finally when the worst of it was over and goes through a panic attack. The clean up is done and the stipulation is, I do not leave the stove until the eater in my coffee is boiled. Fair enough. It got pretty crazy there for awhile I thought the whole place would burn down and it could have easily burn down if I had my headphones on. We got lucky. A couple of weeks ago a house on the south side burned down because someone left a pot of cooking oil unattended on the stove for a brief moment. Same thing might have easily happened here today. We had a fire a couple of years ago a suit in another building burned because of a halogen lamp The whole building was gutted and under repair for a year before people were allowed back in. What happened there could have happened here. It doesn’t take much. Annes a bit upset and I got a burnt index finger but I saved the apartment. Pretty scary there for a while. My pulse rate still hasn’t come down. So now Anne doesn’t want to cook brunch or even go to BP’s because of all of this and I can’t even get a coffee while she’s going through everything in the kitchen looking for smoke damage. There wasn’t much smoke to begin with, Anne’s scrubbing down anything she can get her hands on looking for smoke damage scrubbing walls and floors. She’s going nuts.
All right, I got my coffee and it looks like a nice day out there despite it being a bit on the cool side but this week we’re going into the first day of spring, March 21st is the Venereal Equinox. Usually Day light savings time is just around the corner Sun sets at around 7:40pm
Last night the Oilers were in their retro jersey’s and they scored more then one goal and even though they lost their 10th strait they got a point in OT. It’s not quite a perfect loss but at least they got one point. The NHL also changed their format for the entry draft. It used to be the teams that didn’t make the playoffs and scored the fewer points in the standings got first pick. This year this is all changing it means that the early round draft picks will be evenly spread around. I don’t understand the mechanics of it yet but it could be a good thing for teams like the Oilers. But to get someone like Sydney Crosby again. Players like that are rare and don’t come around very often. People are saying he’s going to be the next Wayne Gretzky. I don’t know about that.
I got my coffee at last here but only after I made sure I turned on the right burner. Yeesh, that was a pretty scary moment.
Last night before bed I had another idea for a story and possibly my next novel idea. I’m keeping the title of this one a secret since doing a book/title search I came up completely empty. I like the title and the concept seems like it’s going to work. The title will be “Sc” and it will be ready to go July 1st. If I can pull this off it will be totally awesome. In the meantime, “S” is almost ready to rd write April 15th. I’ve got some good stuff out of it last night and fleshed out some character development. The thing about outlines is they should really be brief snippets of what is going on in a scene. Once all the scenes are done, then I organize the scenes into Chapters. Some Chapters will have one scene others will have 2-3 scenes. But I need a printer so I can make a hard copy but the first read will be from the screen until my eyes get better.
