That one in the bank |
|
heading into work this afternoon was a pain in the ass. As much as I love her, my wife can be such a dingbat at times. So I was in a foul mood going onto work. Prior to kick-off I called Audrey’s books to place an order for 4 paperback anthologies. I had a great first half with the top total $330 but it didn’t earn me a bonus. Might have if I went after the 2 possible credit cards but I’m not going after credit cards anymore. I haven’t had a bank bonus in weeks so why bother, all that hard work for what? So at the break I called back Audrey’s to see if they put my order in. I don’t think they were able but I’m going on Thursday a bit early because Anne is going into work for Thursday and Friday afternoon. So I’ll go in and solidify the orders. I’m going in Friday afternoon. That will give me 26.5 hours on my next cheaque. I might even go Wednesday as well. Anyway, the Oiler hockey game was on tonight here at Rexall and my shadow was there at work as well. He was waiting for me and I said I’d meet him there so since the parking lot is almost all clear of snow I ended up going the other way and coming in from the back end from the West side of Carona. Christ, the things I got to do to avoid that guy after work. I caught the back end if the train and home without incident. I should just tell him I’m riding in on my own.
Anyway, when I got inside the apartment I noticed Anne had been here. So I caught the last bit on the Oiler hockey game. They lost matching a franchise record, 11 strait losses since 1993. Unbelievable. What’s even more amazing is last year this was a club that went to the Stanley Cup finale, They were even in the playoff raze after the All Star break but everything went to hell when they lost Ryan Smyth. He’s done as an Oiler. The Oilers if anything should get rid of Kevin Lowe. Would Smyth have taken the extra $100G to remain here? I think so. Will he come her if given the chance? I doubt it.
Ok, I ended up watching Raw. On a scale from 1-10 I’d say, give it a “6”,which is more then what it deserves but to see Chris Benoit and Cena battle it out, I thought that was the price of “admission”.
So, that was my evening, not very exciting. On ccsd semies, a source I usually do pretty good at I got 3 sales. My lousy attitude shone through no doubt but the last caller and I had a talk. He was saying how he is going to have a cataract operation tomorrow and we got to talking about that and he also made mention how this coming up July 31st is the 20th anniversary of Black Friday, the Tornado that killed 21 people here in Edmonton. I was 34 years old when it happened, living on my own in the West end and working at Cobogo. Pretty amazing.
