Wednesday

friggen cats kept jumping on my feet all morning coming into roam around and later in the morning because their hungry and Anne’s going in for 3om. Tomorrow and Friday I’m going in for the 1:30pm shift. I’ll have 23.5 hours plus 6, is 29.5. Most hours on my cheaque since before I became diabetic June 2004. I was working mornings then and some afternoons, I recall working until 3pm so I could run home and give my wife the bus pass. I’ve been thinking about keeping some of those hours again now that I’m an established tap shooter. The only difficulty I have with going in at 1:30pm is my insulin. A couple of issues come to mind, such as storing it and the time adjustment in taking it. At least I don’t have to haul my wife’s bag down to the train anymore as long as she’s keeping these hours. But if she’s going to do more of these days, then so am I.

I’m examining the outline for “S” and to be honest some of it is kind of silly. But the main theme is terra forming and eco systems. From my reading about eco systems, they can be quite enduring. It takes a lot to ruin one. I mean if your going to dump fourty million gallons of oil into a three acre wetland, lets face it  the wetland will be ruined quiet easily. We’ve seen this happen last summer when CN had one of it’s trains jump the tracks in lake Wabaman West of Edmonton on highway 16, dumping diesel fuel into the lake. This was a  major rail disaster here in Canada. If left alone and we humans treat our lakes and wetlands with respect these will last a long time.

A couple of news stories one in the making since the early 1980’s from Proctor and Gamble and Amway. The lawsuit was over a 4 ex Amway Distributors that made allegations that P&G’s logo was Satanic in order to advance their own businesses. This is something that Ellen’s up line organization would do. To be fair, Amway retracted these allegations immediately. I don’t know if they apologized to P&G but the case resurfaced again in 1995. Just this morning I heard on Coast the judge ruling in P&G’s favor and awarded $19.5 million dollar suit in P&G’s favor. That’s it? The award needs to be a lot more then that to bring Amway down. Amway’s a 4 billion-dollar/year company. As much as I hate Amway for every Amway that falls there will be some other mlm right behind it. Still it was an interesting story.

The other big story is the founder of PayPall Elon Musk launching Falcon 1 “budget” rocket into space. Before him was Space X and of course there’s Biglow inflatable habitats and of course Paul Allen of Microsoft getting into ground based satellite dish programs helping the SETTI program. It’s nice to see these private firms getting into space and space exploration. I think the most exciting of the 3 is Biglow Aereospace and the space habitats. We’re still in the space exploration stone age of course but we’re getting there.

On my plate for today: It’s going into work at 3:45pm so I can get there by about 4:20pm and put my 4 hours in. Then home and that’s about it. Wednesdays are rather lame for me.

Last night on the local news they covered the OTH game and said some nice things about it and showed some highlights. The event since it’s beginning has raised over 8 million dollars for charities. Not bad. It was a class act of the announcer Kevin Karius to mention the even and shed favorable light on it. I wonder how many Mr. Jones that read the negative article in January had a different opinion now.

This was a difficult entry to write because of these reading glasses. My other ones a, lot better are somewhere at work. These are better then nothing but in case my other reading glasses are missing, these will have to do. Sorry for any typos this afternoon, until when and if my vision clears this will have to do. I’ve got the font on word as I type this raised to 14. I reduce it down to 11 and copy and then paste it into the GL story editor.

That’s all for now.

e. Jim
