winter’s back. We got a whack of bow overnight but this snow is wet and slushy. This weekend the weather channel is forecasting +10* -+11* Celsius, So it’s going to be pretty slushy over the weekend until everything dries up.
Anyway I got up at 5am and pondered if I should do the cbi thing now or later. Later. I had 1.5 hours sleep. I went back to bed for 2 more and I got up at 7 to do the cbi ting and then back to bed. This getting up for one thing or another isn’t good for my sleep either. So where are we at 3.5 hours I think. I went back to bed and my wife says to wake he up at noon. Now I’ve got to worry about that since she uses earplugs to block out noise like the bedroom fan, which is constantly going. Even now. It’s so hot in there and there’s no air circulating in that room. I can sleep in this room and on the couch. I’ve never lived in an apartment where I had to have a bedroom fan on while I sleep. So I think I slept fine from 7-11:30, 4.5 hours or so. Lots of those times I just dozed. I might have got 7 hours sleep. Maybe.
Anyway. Anne’s out of here in an hour going in for the early shift. I’ll most likely go in for Wed-Thur early and get 14 hours in plus the 7 in the bank already (assuming we’re going to call into Winnipeg). That will give me 28.5 hours in. I hope plus any bonuses I get in there as well. I’m doing this so that I can take Saturday off and work on C. Sending material out and getting the form back is all part of the writing process. But I need the extra hours for the printer. I should be getting back $75 from Revenue and there’s a GST rebate cheaque coming back soon. That’s $125. That’s $200 and anything I work towards. The printer will be about $250-300.
The other thing going on next week on the 18th will be another Hospital visit and my 3rd yag laser treatment. I don’t know if I mentioned this but what were waiting for is for a specially designed contact lens. My Doctor is having trouble with this lens more then my left eye where most of my vision comes from. I don’t know what the contact lens does but when he shoves it into my eye and I look at the white light and I see the yag laser dance around I get dizzy even when I try to focus away from the light. I don’t know what’s going on at his end on the other side of my vision with that contraption but it sounds like he’s getting frustrated with me. So pending failure of me going in again next week I can almost here what’s going to happen next. He’s probably going to make a suggestion: I can continue to go in for treatment and hope for the best and wait for that contact lens to be developed, or go in for a risky operation that could have disastrous effects. For all I know it might take years for me to get that contact lens. The other suggestion would be I might even have to buy the lens myself by having it special ordered. I don’t know what kind of money I’d be looking at.
Last night on Coast George was talking with Charles Chaffer from Space Services Inc about how they plan to launch James Doohan’s ashes in orbit and others April 28th. From what I heard not all the ashes cremated will be going but only a portion. The guest also talked about price packages and apparently the lowest package is $500. Which isn’t much when you think of it. The thing is the ashes are not going alone but from what I heard the ashes are in individual capsules. There’s probably a science fiction story in there somewhere. Maybe Space Services Inc will send DNA up into space and that say some future civilization might find them and revitalize those of us from the 21st Century. Feel free to use the above as a plot thread. Don’t worry about me, I’ve got enough stories to write about.
