Anne got in shortly before 11pm and made me a grilled sandwich and Raman’s. Good stuff. We watched the local news and the Oilers cleaned out their team lockers and spoke to the media. Kevin Lowe said something about the season and what they’ll be trying to do in the off-season. It’s going to get interesting.
Anyway, I told JT that he could expect me to be off tomorrow night. I mean if some staff there tonight can say they were out drinking Monday night and I can’t “Spend rime with my family” then there’s something wrong here. So Anne and I talked about it and agreed I can have Wednesday off. Great.
Anyway, when I got home I looked in one finale spot where my Rush software might be. I found it and downloaded the software so now My Computer can look for removable drive G & H. I took a lot of Clash tunes off the onboard drive as I’ve only got 128mb of memory. I cam hold about 30 songs. I’m thinking about getting a 80Gb I pod with my vacation pay at the end of the year but some features if the Ipod only work with a Mac. These Ipod’s are really robust systems but if I have a choice between an Ipod and a big screen TV I’d rather go for the TV. We’re looking at the HD 50” LCD screen and if Anne can take out a grand before Xmas, and I can work a week plus Vacation pay, I can out $600 towards it. Maybe eve $1000, so we’ll wait and see.
This morning:
I’ve got to stop staying up so late. Now if I was up at 7am to be at work for 9 and work from 9-1, I’d be in bed by 1:00am. I’m thinking about the morning shift but since I became diabetic July 2004 that as a remote option. I’m sure Rob would put me on taps. Working in the mornings has several advantages. Firstly I don’t have to go back to bed when I’m up doing the cbi thing, I’d be on taps, I’m already at work so if I want to work until 3pm to meeet Anne for the bus pass a couple of times a week, and also working mornings would allow me to have my evenings off so I can go to more lodge nights. I should ask Rob if I can do a mix of mornings and evenings. “as long as you still do Saturday’s why not?”
My wife was up and about this morning and I was so passed out I didn’t hear her. She keeps running into various characters that live in the area and she encountered one such individual on Assured Income for the Severely Handicapped. Or AISH as it’s called here. My brother Mike is on AISH in BC but they granted it to him at around the time he got married. The BC Government is more compassionate then the Alberta Government when it comes to those kinds of things. If I was living in BC I probably could get on AISH as well but they didn’t have AISH in the 1970’s as far as I know. So, Anne gets talking to this person who is diabetic and blind living in the area and on AISH. She gave Anne a number of a a couple of agencies here in the City that can provide with low income/disabled with free insulin. At first I was thinking of the Eli Lily program but that’s just a temporary thing and their insulin needles are longer then the ones I use. We’ve also got some places as well to help with other things. What I’d like to do is to get on the Edmonton Housing waiting list so Anne and I can get our rent subsidized. Anyways I want to post this and get on with what’s left of the afternoon. More later.
