Big post Saturday

I went to bed last night right after ECW. It was excellent. ECW keeps getting better all the time. We got Smackdown/ECW coming here July 17th. I’d love to go and to bring a $100 bucks with me just for t-shirts. I listened to a bit of Coast and I was in bed by 2am. Anne came in about the same time. I had a good 4.5 hours sleep. I’m okay although by 2pm this afternoon, I’ll be wiped out.

Heading into work is always the tough part but I’m sufficiently rested up and enjoying my first coffee. I remember escorting Ellen home from Richards in the afternoon after we’d have had some sleep. But those first 15 days of Thelema were pretty special. I don’t know where or what Ellen is doing now. She could be dead for all I know. I mean that was 27 years ago. Fifteen days later I created this daily diary. I haven’t seen her in years and I’m okay with that too.

So as far as today goes, I’ll be heading into work and putting my 4 hours in. We could be doing taps today and I’m hoping away from baseball but I think this is our first Saturday crack at it. Last night I did pretty good. I ended up with $328 and a $40 credit card. When I left I had that memory in my head again. Observing my encounter with Thelema and casting a glance over to the old place as it was named 5 Oakes at the time now. Now it’s called Fairview place. Kist brings a smile to my face every time I think about that special night. I’ll make another observance when I pass by it again on the way home. I recall a few years back when it was the 25th anniversary I actually had a chance to go into 5 Oakes again and headed upstairs. The stairwell was completely redone and I went up to the top floor past Richards old suite just behind the hallway stairwell door and a Chinese couple were living there. I made mention of this at the time. When I get home. I’m going to have a nap and get ready to watch the Ottawa/Jersey game. Come on Sens! I’d love to see the Sens win it in the East and Vancouver win it in the West. Vancouver won their game 2 in this series in Anaheim yet splitting that one. They go back and play again game #3 in Vancouver. If the Canucks and the Sens decide West/East then we could have an all-Canadian team line up.

So. I’ll be watching that game at 6 tonight.

After the game I’m going to work more on F and this weekend I’m aiming to complete the beginning part of F. That’s my goal this weekend. There are a lot of passive words in the rough draft but it is the rough draft what can I say? Lately though I’m reading 3+ scenes/day. At this rate the first read will be completed in about 2 weeks. The rough draft is just the initial clean up of the story. There are a lot of broken words spacing contradictions and just sloppiness in general. The story flows well enough but there are too many passive words and I’m going to tighten this up in the 2nd draft.

Also, this weekend I’m going to have Anne take another photograph of me. Just like before but with a few more modifications. I’m going to send this to Markus to see if he could upload this to my site. The other thing is, I sent him an email the other day titled “New look website” where I copied and pasted the Homepage of my site and modified it in paint how I’d like it to go with a sample from a link. I have no idea if he has received this email. So far he hasn’t replied. My friend Keith Graham from KG Wanderings teaches website design and knows his stuff. The idea I’m looking at is to have a horizontal menu About Me-Blog-Friends-Reading-Writing-Science Fiction-My Philosophy  The idea is you click on a link and a sub menu drops down. Not the type of drop down menu recently placed by Markus in my left side bar, This is a little more fancier. Another project I’m working on over this weekend etc.

Last night in reaction to that woman that received a 2nd rental increase from the greedy gouging PMF’s the day following the Announcement that the province is stepping in with rent controls, Steady Eddy say’s “No way.” And it seems this is going to go into Law ASPA. Companionate Capitalism at work folks. Our brand of Conservatism is a bit different then the way it works in most other countries. My buddy Keith posted a pretty good sound off on Conservatism but that is extreme Conservatism. The kind of Conservatism the way Keith puts fourth from his sources boarders on Fascism. Fascism basically means militarized Conservatism. Essentially it means a dictatorship. We sort of have a Dictatorship here in Alberta because the Alberta Tories have been in power so long here. However this is not a “Dictatorship” in the sense that is has a foreign policy. A real Dictatorship means there is no Freedom of the Press and no taxation without representation, most importantly of all no elections. The people of Alberta have ever since I’ve been here since 1978 have always elected a Conservative leader. Peer Lougheed, Don Ghetty for a short while. Don Ghetty gave us our Family Day February long weekend in 1990.Ralph Klein came in with his Privatization legislation because our economy in those days wasn’t anywhere near where it is now. Thanks to Harper and Ottawa, we could be facing a downturn in our economy again soon. Before Ralph left every Albertan got a $400 resource cheaque from oil and gas revenues. My wife and I each got one and I got my digital camera because of it. We elect Conservative here in Alberta. The alternative would tax Albertans though the roof. We are the only Province without a sales tax. That’s why partly our local economy is doing so well. You get the Liberals in and the first thing they will do is introduce a Provincial sales tax. This is why Ed Stalmach stepped in with a form of rent controls because people are getting scared because of these greedy PMF’s. The Liberals or the NDP would have turned their noses up at us. Now thanks to the province that woman I spoke of earlier will just have to be content with the single rental increase. I even heard that the rent can’t be increased more then 2% and only once/year.

Anyway, that’s going to be about it for now. Time to blog this and do the cbi thing and head into work.
