Saturday

we had a heck of a time trying to get a pill into pledges so he could swallow it last night. Cat’s don’t take these thing very well especially from non-veterinarians trained in doing this kind of things.

I got into work fine enough and everything started out all right Mike was talking to this big colored kid I don’t know and I wanted to get mikes attention when he’s done. So this kid comes up and starts mouthing off at me and was still mouthing off at me on the other side of the isle. What the hell? Paul waved a hand at him for him to settle down. What started him off? So this put me in a bad mood for the first half of the shift and we ended up doing Bonanza. Yeesh. After the break we ended up doing CBF and I just blew away with I ending up with a $50 credit card and another $10 bonus. That made up for that kid mouthing off at me. I think I had the 2nd top total and the colored kid had something like $400 Lets get out of here. I had a nice leisurely walk to Tims waiting for my #2 and after a short wait it came by right away. It was beautiful out there but we need a rain.

My bus came by and off I went sitting on the side courtesy seat. I had to smile when the bus pulled onto Jasper up by the old Five Oaks building. I almost felt like getting out and doing a pilgrimage walk or something. I got to Super Cuts with a bit of waiting and got my haircut. I’m already to fo for the summer. They honored the coupon and because they did and a few things extra the other hair place up by Wallmart in December wouldn’t do like use the electric razor and shaved my hair at the back and sideburns. They took a little extra care, which I liked. The coupon was for $4 off and some change. I should have picked myself up something at McDonalds because I had a bit of a wait there for my bus and I must have walked maybe 20 minutes and nothing came by. I walked down to the ravine and. It was very warm out there and I had my jacket on. Walking past the Pentecostal church, I found myself at Wray wind crossing the apartment complex and I walked home from there. The park walh was nice but it needs a first cut. I was sweaty when I came inside our building and down the hallway, I was hoping to see Anne home but no such luck. I decided to go have a shower to wash the sweat off me. After feeling refreshed I headed for bed and had a nice 2-hour nap. I woke up shortly before 6pm and Anne isn’t home yet. No doubt she’s working later then usual.

So this so far was my Saturday and I hadn’t eaten anything yet. If I had some more cash on me I would have grabbed something at McDonalds. I still have my sandwiches if I get desperate.

I don’t know where the postal outlet is here for parcel picks up but I have a feeling it’s at the old Clairview shopping center. This is okay as well because I know where to go to when I’m ready to send my manuscript package out. I can do this at any post office not just the Clairview one. I’m considering the Clairview one because I’m going to be joining the Science Fiction Book club of Canada (SFBC) this June now that I’m putting in the hours I can afford hard cover books now. Why SFBC? Firstly because of that 11 book for 22 cent offer. That’s $2.42 for 11 books. I can pick up my books and drop off my manuscript at the same time. Also I can go to Winks for their chicken potato/wedges lunch. My goal is to still buy one book a week until I get up to 1000 books. Then I’ll only by books if the subject is really intriguing.

That’s all for now
