It's back..at last

I’m back. The good news I have my vision back. The yag worked. The only after affects are the eye drops and when they’re gone, my vision will be 100% restored. Right now as I’m typing this I’ve got a bit of a ghost or a shadow image but that will fade by this evening. I can still see the odd floater against the white screen but Dr. M. said that this will take a couple of weeks, before it clears up fully.  Now lets try the book-reading test. Still a bit fuzzy but I can read bits of it. The shadow image is there but for the most part my vision has been restored. It’s just the eye drops that remain.

Anyway, it was closing in around 10:30 this morning and still no Anne to be around. I waited until the last possible minute and I locked everything up and the bus was just coming towards the stop. I was at Clairview station right away and after a 10-minute wait I was underway.  At Rexall I had no clue as to what bus to take to Kingsway. A transit Super was there and said I can take the #8 or #143. My bus cam by right away and before long I was at Kingsway. Here’s the kicker. It was 11:15. I needed to be at the intake at 11:30. I wasn’t going to make it.  I took a chance and just got in at 11:30. I booked in and shortly afterwards a nurse called my name to insert the 2 sets of eye drops. I was waiting a long time and sure enough Anne came by pulling up the rear. She explained there was a hold up there at the church because people had been holding tickets for others.  I began to get a bit nervous when it was just before noon and then Dr. M. walked out without even saying anything to me at all.  Anne and I were getting a little antsy. So, what to do? Lets confirm the deal, were getting from Bell. We get one PVR and the 100 channels and 5 theme packs.  Anne likes her movie channels and we can add more, as we need them. Shaw also has a PVR box but the standard is $300 and or $15/month for 36 months.  Anyway there’s more about this but that’s for later. Soon afterwards Dr. M came back from his lunch break and saw one client and then took me in. I feared the worst. This can’t work. But he continued to play with the yag. “Do this look here,” click-click and more clicks. “That’s right. We need to rest the machine.” click-click and more clicks. “We’re 9/10ths of the way done.”  Click-click and more clicks. “Just a little more, and we’re done.” What? He didn’t even need to insert that lens over my eye. Thanks and hand shakes and Anne and I were out of there about 2 hours ago.

I couldn’t wait to get home. We walked to Kingsway and Anne wanted to spend some of her reward points she had got at the Olive Garden. I boarded the #8 heading to Rexall as she continued on West getting probably the #150-bus out to JP and a bit beyond. She’s most likely on her way home now. I got the train to Clairview and Read some of the community papers. Well the bigger headlines as the eye drops were still in my eyes making it hard to see the smaller print. But I noticed as soon as I left the yag room the improvement in my vision. I had a long wait for on the bus at Clairview but I eventually got home at 2:30pm.

The first was the TV test. That’s when I noticed the ghost images under icons and such but I knew this was the eye-drops influencing my vision. Dr. M. said my vision would be fully restored in about 2 weeks. I did the computer screen reading test and I noticed a huge difference. I no longer need to have the font bold at 14. I reduced the font to standard and down to 12. I don’t need to bold the font anymore. Next came the novel test. The font was still blurry but that’s because of the eye drops but mostly the 2 weeks or so Dr. M. said my vision will need to fully restore itself. Basically the yag broke down chunks of membrane and liquefied them and these will disappear within the 2 week period. About 40 minutes ago I put the reading glasses on and I can read font from books now. I’m very happy.

So tonight I’m having the night off as scheduled and I’m going to relax and do some more work on F. As for Anne’s ID we don’t know if this is in yet as she hasn’t returned from Olive Garden. I’m going to post this and go have a nap. Right now, I’m very happy.

That’s all for now.

Good News! It has been a long and bumpy ride, but I am glad you finally got that YAG done. Better yet, it sounds like it is working!
