we headed out of here 2 hours ago and sure enough out from around the corner onto 137th ave was the bus. We boarded it and down at Clairview station. A brief wait there and we were at Churchill station. I felt good walking with Anne towards our brunch trying someplace new. The place is called Rickie’s and it apparently opened up apparently a couple of months ago. Very nice. Dark red wood and brass furnishings well lit and cozy. I immediately liked the place. The service was adequate but pricey. Lots of booths and a nice bar that seemed to be the showcase of the place. Their menu was lavish and they served breakfast until 4pm on a Sunday. The breakfast was excellent. 3 sausages, a nice serving of shredded hash browns (my favorite) 2 eggs medium and a double order of toast. It came to $10 each. Very reasonable It was reasonably busy in there. Anne and I really enjoyed it. Then we walked back to the East side of the mall we came through the lower floor. Anne wanted to call her father. I wanted to look around in The Source (radio shack) and look for some special Bic pens at Grand and Toy. I liked the tapered end kind because the cap ends are great for cleaning out the wax in my ears. They work better then a q-tip. I walked out of there and I saw Anne waving at me coming down the escalator. She wanted to show me where Coles was so we went up the escalator and I went looking around at their science fiction. Because they’re a small store they have no choice but to mix SF/F together. I looked around and they have some nice selections. I spotted finally in paperback Peter F Hamilton’s sequel to Pandora’s Star. Judas unchained. They had 2 copies left. I should have brought more money with me but Anne put the remainder on her bankcard. Hey, breakfast, pens, an anticipated SF book, beautiful. What a great fathers day. Best fathers day I’ve had. Anne’s going to take that printer into Fs tomorrow for me.
Anyway, it’s back to work on F. I hope to get a couple of scenes done today. This
is about all the blogging for today.
That’s all for now.
