Got to run |
|
it only shows a slight drizzle out there. That’s what we get for rain these days lately.
I was following the NHL draft hoping (like all us other Oiler fans) the team would be making some blockbuster trades. They still might but on the first day, they didn’t do very much. The big name unrestricted free agents (ufa) are still out there and that action will take place July 1st, which is next weekend. The Oilers are rebuilding. They picked 3-18 year olds that might be able to play this season. They’ll be at training camp. The Oilers need to spend some money and they need to get some big names. So the first day was a little disappointing if you’re an Oiler fan. Other teams in the league didn’t fare any better I’m sure seeing as how this is the worst draft year in recent NHL history. There wasn’t a lot to pick from this year.
Also, lately I’ve been hard at work on F. This has to be the best story I’ve ever come up with. It’s got some really weird ideas I’ve never seen in an sf novel. I think this will be ready to market in January of 08. My next novel will be a science fiction meets paranormal I call “Into the Blue Abyss.” Or IBA. I’m still tinkering with that. “High Risk Assessment” is done, for the most part. It’s a novella size project. I was hoping to scan hra into a Word document.
I’d still like to get my Xp system up and running but it’s so terribly slow. Nothing more Ram couldn’t fix but I don’t know exactly what Ram is in there now. I know its PC2700 but what kind for what motherboard. I’ve seen some weird oversized 2700 Ram chips that look really funky. I don’t want to buy the wrong variety and having to run all the way to the South side and return it. I think I’m just going to break into the cse and find out for myself. It should say right on the Ram chips.
I’m sitting here relaxing having my first coffee. Today it’s off into work from 10-2. I don’t mind this shift. It’s getting there and into the office that’s the hard part but once inside and a few sales under my belt, I the shift just speeds right up, especially if we’re working with a decent list. Last night I was just flying pulling in $360, which was top total and 3 credit cards for a total of $105. For a near the end of a ticket campaign that’s pretty damn good on a Friday night. I’m not out to make employee of the year or anything like that, but you never know. What annoyed me at Carona station was Diane there. I’m trying to avoid her. She doesn’t work on a Friday night. Her company closes Friday nights. I was surprised when she was there at Carona. I think from now on, I’m taking the bus home on Friday nights. Usually even if she’s there at Carona I try and avoid her by taking an end car on the train and usually there’s the early #11 bus out of Clairview. I’ll stay behind and take the #182 or walk the rest of the way. Going to work other then with my wife or leaving I like to be alone. Just me and the book I’m reading. I had an incident between stops where this drunk was showing off to his girlfriend and a rapper sitting beside me getting in my face. Fortunately this ended right away. He wasn’t being a prick or anything just drunk and overly friendly aggressive. His girlfriend kept discouraging him. He was putting his arm around me and calling me buddy smiling asking me what I do etc. His rapper associate was having a laugh about the whole thing in the seat opposite me but never said anything after this guy left. I didn’t want any trouble. I was tired and all I wanted to do was to go home. I’m glad he got off at Stadium. I was a bit frazzled by this but it wasn’t the type of incident worth hailing down security, it wasn’t his fault. The 0nly bus pulling in was a #183 so I boarded that under beautiful pink orange cloud and blue sunset sky. And who comes along Diane as I was in the process of reading my book. I made some small talk on the bus but went right on reading and I probably should have stayed at the bus stop. The air was that nice out there.
After work I think I’m going to crack open that Xp case of mine once and for all and find out what Ram is inside. More later
