Day off 3/3

I had a pretty good run there on F earlier finally getting my outline caught up with my rewrite. At the moment I’m closing in on scene #50. I hope to close in on the end of the middle by the end of this week.

I was hoping the Oilers would pick up Scott Gomez or Ryan Smyth or even Paul Kariya. My hopes were dashed this evening when I heard the news Ryan Smyth is going Colorado. In the same breath Paul Kariya is going to St. Louis and Scott Gomez and Chris Drury are going to New York Rangers. So that do the Oilers get today? Not much. If anything they trade off more then they got. Typical Kevin Lowe. So what does Lowe do? He trades up Jason Smith their team Captain for 11 years, and Joffery Lupul. Two players from our B list 2 get 2 players from someone else’s C list. The wild card I like in the free agency trades/deals, is the possibility Jerome Iginla status is in limbo. Now if (fat chance) the Oilers get him or someone of his caliber then Low might be vindicated. There are other urfa players up for grabs and Global but the big names are taken. The big heartbreaker was losing Ryan Smyth again. Not that we had him a 2nd time but Oiler fans (me included) were hopeful that we could get him back. But bit with tightwad Kevin Lowe. Kevin Lowe is no Glen Sather when it comes to wheeling and dealing. This tells me that the Oilers are in s rebuilding phase. The first rebuilding phase was when they lost Mark Messier after the Oilers Stanley Cup win in 1990. That rebuilding process went on until about 1997 when the Oilers were kicking Dallas butt all over the place. Those years were great, going up until we lost Ryan Smyth. I really believe that if goal tender Rollison hadn’t been injured at the beginning of the Carolina series last June we would have won the Stanley Cup. The first rebuilding process took 7 years. The 2nd could take equally that long and probably will before we have a Stanley Cup contender again.

That’s enough of hockey until some serious news breaks.

I don’t know what Markus is doing but he sent me this curious email called “e. Jim user submissions.” After receiving this I went to my website and found my menus are all screwed up again. The menu’s on his screen seem to be working fine according to the screen shot he sent me this evening. So I sent him a screen shot (I hope) he gets this one. I tried refreshing the screen and the menu is still fucked up. I don’t think it’s anything intentional Markus did. It makes my site look foolish. I do that enough on my own without the site doing that for me. For those reading this blog if the site looks okay to you, please email me a comment. Thanks.

After the news Anne got me to watch in progress, “Revenge of the Sith.” I couldn't get into it in progress. I enjoyed all of the Star Wars films and I like Star Wars better then Star Trek. Not that I don’t enjoy watching the Star Trek movies. I think more quality goes into a Star Wars movie then a Star Trek movie but that’s just me.

Last month I went on a book buying frenzy. I bought 7 books. I listed the titles already elsewhere. But to recap, here’s a photo of the books I bought for June.

Not having a good day with this photo software. I'll try some other time.

That’s all for now.
