A July Saturday |

I went into work about 4pm just after Hogan’s Hero’s. It was very nice out there and a lot cooler temperatures. I got in the office about 4:45pm. I had a dismal first half and a dismal second half pulling in $90 for the whole shift. Jeff beside me was popping off sale after sale. Anne called me at her break. Even Paul ended up with less then me when JT called totals at the end of the shift. This morning were calling charity taps so that’s going to be good for a change. I’ll leave out of here at 9pm this morning and get my Tim’s breakfast sandwich. The morning will go fast and before I know it I’ll be in Audrey’s buying my book.
Wow, the Oilers went shopping big time yesterday but the Sabers outbid them. The thing is the Sabers lost Chris Drury and Daniel Briere in the ufa last week and of course the confusion of the Nylander incident earlier this week forced coach Kevin Lowe to make a huge offer for Sabers restricted free agent top goal scorer Thomas Vaneck and made available a $50 million offer sheet. It basically forced the Sabers to sign this guy when they were probably going to sign him for less money. Now other teams are out trying to talk to Lowe. How about Paul Kariya and maybe Jerome Iginla for starters? It probably won’t come down to anything like that but in this new post CBI the Oilers are making unprecedented noises. The Oilers have got cap room to play with but the Oilers should have gone with teams with restricted free agents with zero cap room.
Anyway I ended up rewriting 4 scenes yesterday. I’m going to be working in the morning and then I’ll be working at more scenes later today. Maybe if I’m lucky I’ll have 8 scenes done, bringing me up to scene #70. It’s a little ambitious but not insurmountable for a weekend.
After work I went to Audrey’s to check on my research book. Very surprised. They want $22 for it. I thought it was something like $31. So, I’ll pick it up tomorrow after work. I’ll take $40 with me and I’ll pick up Elizabeth Bear’s “Carnival” and I’ll still have $60 leftover. At Audrey’s moments before the store was closing I asked the young fellow at the order desk counter if he wouldn’t mind letting me have a look at my website on the stores computer. They are using Win 2000. My site looks no differently on that. I wonder what it will look like on a Mac?
I’m seriously thinking about purchasing a Macbook for Christmas. I want a laptop anyway. If I can get $1000 from vacation pay and save up say $75/week for 16 weeks I’ve got the Macbook pro as a Christmas present. The only problem with the MBP is there is no media card reader. Not that he Mac really needs one what with their Iphone and Ipod’s
Update: I forgot to include this.Today is the 7th day of the 7th month of the 7th year. 777.
That's all for now.
