Friday afternoon |

having a great afternoon. We got to bed about 3 am and I couldn’t sleep so I got up at 5:15 or so and did the cbi thing and watched the last “Ghost Trails and Ghost towns” on Rock creek. I went to bed and slept soundly until noon. I had about 6 hours of sleep.
I got up at noon and had my first coffee and completed my scenic plot template ahead of schedule. This weekend I’m going to work on a story outline. Possibly for Exile or something else, I don’t know yet. I’d really like to hook up both computers together and I’ll be doing that next weekend. The idea is to see if the mouse will hold copied items to paste in between different browsers from different computers. That way I can copy and paste the Template into Word on my W98 computer. I might just use that one for writing and email and use the Xp for website stuff bloging that sort of thing. I don’t know yet.
My wife is going in early and I’ve got my usual 5pm shift and my $30 bucks for a couple of books as I want to head out to Chapters after work. I haven’t been out there since March when my vision was still bugging me. So at 8:30 after work I’m heading out with my cell phone.
I’ve been exploring Happy Harbor Comics and collectibles here in the City. They have 2 locations on 124th St. and their most recent location just a few blocks away from me on the corner of 137th and the Manning freeway. I can walk it in 10-20 minutes. Last time we were up that way was in February and I could barely see the crosswalk lights to cross the street. The 2nd location of Happy Harbor opened up in April and now the big shocker is they are apparently moving into the “Warp 1.” location.
lunch consisted of a simple frozen macaroni-hamburger fare. Just what I needed. I still find it amazing that after all these years Warp 1 is selling out. I know the owner to some extent he organized and built the business back in the mid 1980’s. The comic book market collapsed under its own pressure in the 1990’s as rising prices and the Internet but lately Warp 1 has had the reputation of over pricing themselves out of the market. I’m left a bit saddened that Warp 1 is going but at the same time, kind of relieved for the consumer that with Warp 1’s departure and Happy Harbor moving in, maybe things will be a bit better for the consumer. I bought a few Advanced Squad Leader modules and games there over the years but their prices are way over the top. I mean $100 for a rule book? I think the last ASL module I bought was Croix de Guerre the French module when Avalon Hill was still publishing the games. I have yet to buy any ASL games since Multi man took it over in the late 1990’s.

That’s all for now
