last night I found a pretty good online music service at lomoio.com. All they need is email confirmation and they give you thirty cents, which is enough to download 2 free tracks from their huge library. Enough to try out their service for free. My too good to be true Spider senses went up and I figured this is Spyware of some kind. But their interface is petty clean. I registered an account and they confirmed my gmail account after I responded. I went back to their main page logged in and found I had the thirty cents in my account. I picked out the 2 tracks I wanted and figured out how to download. Sure enough within minutes. I had the tracks downloaded into my default media player. I thought that if people wanted tons of songs all they had to do was to open up multiple Gmail/Hotmail accounts and download at will. I think the licensing agreement would figure out what’s going on pretty darn quick and shut the user out based upon their IP address. However lomoio.com is a pretty good alternative to Itunes. Their tracks are a lot cheaper as well, The average track is something like thirty cents. To download an album is like $3. The only problem with lomoio.com is the tracks get downloaded into your media player. I have yet to find a way how to get the tracks off my default media player and onto an SD card. I might have to upgrade the media player. I’m using Real by default and there is a burn/transfer option but I don’t think that’s available on the default version. Also, lomoio.com has a wide choice of payment options but they lack an FAQ page. If your cell phone has SMS you can pay from your cell phone which is a real cool feature.
Anyway, my attempts at getting some sleep fell apart, thanks due to that coffee I wanted at 10pm. In my younger days I used to drink coffee right up until midnight and have no trouble falling asleep. I think from the time I got to bed about 3:30am I just rested. I might have dozed off a bit here and there until 7am to do the cbi thing. Again I had trouble sleeping but I think I finally passed out about 8am. I woke up at about 12:30pm and rested trying to sleep until 1pm. So all in all I think I got maybe 6 hours of sleep but that’s pushing it. 4-5 is more likely.
Anne’s heading out of here at about 2:45pm. Last night she got a phone call on her other cell phone and she didn’t recognize the number right away. If it was important she would have called back numerous times. I just hope it’s not her family related tragic news. Anne’s talk rates are more generous after 7pm then our pay as you go phones except we get unlimited evenings and weekends. The call Anne has to make after 7pm is long distance. Now it has me worried. Anne’s at the age now when parents start dying off. Sure that’s not the case with everybody but by and large when your approaching your fifties, mid fifties this is the time when mom and dad bite the big one and pass on. Anne’s mother died 2 years ago November and she got the call late at night from her sister. Anne’s father is 83 and has been in a nursing home for a few yeas now. He’s had one stroke. So, every time her sister (she has three others) calls I’m expecting bad news. Nothing I can do about that now. I’ve never met Anne’s mom and dad and she’s never met anyone from my family either. I think I’ve talked to Donna on the phone once or twice and she comes to Edmonton on business at least once a year. She works for a major pharmaceutical company and her job requires her to travel a lot. I hope the phone call is just about that.
Last night WWE had their much hyped up pay per view ppv night “The great American bash.” I went to the Wiki page for an update and not one champion ship belt changed hands. What a disappointment. That’s one ppv I won’t be ordering anytime soon all though the main Raw main event looked promising. I didn’t miss much.
I’m still trying to get some images up on my blog from yesterday but my imaging software won’t let me resize images files sizes. Sure it lets me turn them into Jpeg formats and I got the attributes right for where they are to be placed in my blog and all but when I go to save I get an error message saying the file “Image etc.” is to big for the CMS to allow. And yet I’ve done this with other pictures on my W98 machine. I spent most of last night trying to figure out a way how to get the images resized. No matter what I do the image properties show the original size at 1.1mb. I can email the reduced size and maybe I should simply email them to myself and work from there. I haven’t tried that angle yet.
But after lunch I’ve got about an hour left before I head out of here at 4pm and into work. I’ll be letting JT know that I won’t be in for Tuesday night because of the Doctor’s appointment. I might just put in a couple of afternoons to make up for the missing evening anyway. I’ll get home at about 9:30pm maybe have a show and get ready to watch Raw. I suspect this will be about it for me for today anyway.
That's all for now.
