For Thursday

I had a pretty good day Thursday. Ok, I’m thinking about getting up early in the morning, around 10am or so and obtaining the Ram, the KVM switch and the Router. That means hauling my PC over to Future Shop and getting them to install the Ram. Showing me how to install it helps me out next time. Anyway, this is from Yesterday:

we went to bed about 3am Thursday morning listening to Coast for a bit. George had decided against his on air Ouija board experiment and for good reasons too. Not that I have anything against the Ouija board itself. The reason why decided against using the Ouija board on air because of his conscience. I when I met Grady Louis McMurtry, (Frater Hymenaeus Alpha 777-Aleister Crowley’s direct successor to the OTO) back in 1981 I asked him about things like the Ouija board. He told me of the time when it was during WW2 that he went to visit his friend Aleister Crowley and while Crowley was fixing them tea at Crowley’s Flat in England, Grady (while Crowley was away in the kitchen) leafed through one of Crowley’s books on Magic. Crowley came rushing in with the service tray setting it down and in a loud voice strained with a bit of panic, he grabbed the book out of Grady’s hands and closed it replacing it on the shelf saying, Something like, “You have no idea as to the forces you are unleashing.”

George also had on as guest the first hour Jerry Cornelius from “Red Flame.” Jerry Cornelius mentioned Grady who taught him some aspects of magic. I never had the chance to converse with Grady by email. He died in 1985, Bill Hedrick (Grady’s right hand man) is still around and I’ve emailed him many times on the T83 list. The odd thing about the show with Jerry in it was his telling of Crowley and the Ouija board because of a book his new book “Aleister Crowley and the Ouija board.” The Ouija board was a small minor point in Crowley’s magical career yet Cornelius devotes 172 pages to it. I’m sure there is more to it then that. Not taking anything away from Jerry. I’ve emailed him a few times as well. I find him polite knowledgably and affable. He’s a pretty nice guy and knows what he’s talking about and about the same age as me. But the show was mostly about George and the Ouija board and the fact that his conscience wouldn’t let him go ahead with the show. Good for him. I was too tired to listen to the other half of the hour with Jerry and George talking about Aleister Crowley. It would have been fun. It brings back some good times in my old OTO days 1980-1996. I went through four OTO inititiations. In the 80’s and early 1990’s. You can read about my experience with Thelema here. It’s a modest little page but it’s still a work in progress.

Anyway, Anne’s off today. I got her those two passes to Capital eX and she wants to go tonight while I’m at work. She’ll have a good time wandering around eating treats and having a nice night off. We need the money but she’s booking for Saturday instead.

I got up about 6:45am this Thursday morning and did the cbi thing. I did a bsl (blood sugar level) reading at 13.2. Very high. My bsl is always high in the mornings especially at that time. I took it at 1pm and it’s back to 8.4, That’s a little bit more reasonable. I went back to bed and had an irregular sleep but I managed to sleep well until the lawn mower tractor came on around 11am. I had a headache after that but I needed that last hour.

Anne had been talking with a Telus representative and for $40 bucks I can get my email and surf some websites. It’s also a pay as you go as well. Their TV channels are pretty limited, weather channel, much music, fox Sports (no hockey) CBC news world that sort of thing. Pretty lame stuff. It’s still in its stone age. So I left out of here about 4pm. It was pretty hot out there. I got into work about 4:45pm. We did Winnipeg Comedy fest. Anne called me at 6pm and said she had talked to another rep saying Telus has a feature where for an extra $5 we get 1000 anytime minutes during the day minutes from Telus cell phone to Telus cell phone. That’s a pretty good feature. Also, on my birthday I get unlimited daytime, evenings and weekends. I like the $40 plan though because I get unlimited daytime inbound calls and 100 free text messages. Plus I can get my email as well. I was doing pretty good on that and ended up with $230 by break. Back to Abbotsford in the 2nd half and I got my pay cheaque for $521. The Feds took out $144 off the top. So after I give Anne her $150 I’ll have $370 left over. I ended up with $60 for a total of $290 but I ended up with $35 credit cards. In other words I had a great night. Anne called me on the train back as the plan was to meet her up front of the bus just out here and I’d hand her my cheaque and she board but she decided to wait for the next bus. She called about half an hour ago saying how she got the money from the bank and is walking home. She past by the Petro Canada show and shine car club as they were all revving up their engines. It was about 8pm. I couldn’t help but thinking of that Ricky Richardson asshole who revved up his car racing with somebody and his car went out of control off the road killing a pedestrian. That was August 5th 2005. I always think about that when Anne is walking up around that area. I was relieved when she got home and handed me my $365. She took $5 for a handling fee. That’s ok.

That’s all for now.
