I called London Drugs just on a whim and Sunday night before closing and they had the KVM switches in stock. All stores carry them. So that basically save Anne and I a trip out to the south side. I got up Monday morning to do the cbi thing just after 6am and went back to bed, I had a great sleep. Anne and I went out to North town mall about 1pm. I brought $200 with me just in case. So, she went her way to the veggie mart and I went to London Drugs. I got my KVM switch for less then $45 bucks. They had this cute little Sony Vio laptop for $2300. Really nice. I wanted to look around more while Anne was at the Veggie mart and the vet as she wanted to pay on Pledges bill. The reason why they hadn’t cashed her cheaque yet was because they were looking for the cheaque on my name and not hers. I wanted to look around some more in their electronics department but Anne’s business was done with the vet so she called me from there and I went out of LD and had her in my ear on the way out and walked her across the street to the entrance of North town mall across from the Boston Pizza. I saw her push her cart and we waved identifying each other. The idea was to go get Chinese food. We went to this Chinese restaurant, Food Goody or something like that. That might have been our first choice. We opted out for Safeway and their take out. Yuck. I didn’t eat it all. What a waste of $20 bucks. We crossed the busy intersection and caught our bus back. We were home by 4pm. Past the point of no return for work anyway since I hadn’t taken my insulin and Anne hadn’t packed a lunch for me and we agreed I have a night off anyway. So she had to go to Walmart and see the Avon girl upstairs. I put the KVM switch and hooked up both computers. It was just after 6pm and no insulin yet. But I figured I’d go over to Fs anyway and get the router. I was disappointed when the D link routers sale ended brining them back up to $80 and I was just about to go home empty handed again. I came across another brand name “Trendnet” for the same price. I had $60 with me and I confirmed the price and yes $54. No min system requirements. I came in and set it up and had a bit of trouble but Raw was about to come on so I abandoned the operation and I would return to it after wrestling.

Raw was fun this evening. I’d say on a scale from 1-10 I’d rate it about a 7. I really enjoyed it watching the early show instead of the late one.

I figured out that I needed extra cable from my W98 to the router. I knew I had some left over from a couple of years ago stored away in the closet. So, I ended up pulling out boxes knowing there was one box of router cables and crap. I found a yellow one and plugged it into my W98 machine on the left and it works fine. The Black case is my Xp. The router is working blinking away on top. The KVM switch is in the back behind the black case. I’ve got a lot of cabling all over the place I hope to tidy up soon. Here's a pic of my new set up.

Anyway, around noon I’m calling Fs to see if that Jim fellow is there as he said he’d install the Ram for me for nothing. If that’s the case then I’ll get x2 512 strips = 1 Gig. Then it’s home, hook everything all up again. After the Ram, I’ll have $75 and some change.

That means I can get a couple of books this week. I want to get today over with especially the part where I’ve got to go in and apologize to JT for taking Monday off. Anyway,

that’s all for now.

e. Jim
