We’re forecasting another hot one for today. Temps should go up to +28 or 88F. That’s probably considered cooler for you folks in the states. But it’s warm up here. I like my weather to be anywhere from +10 - +20 is just about right for me.

Last night I went to bed about early. 1am is early for me. I listened to a bit of the skeptic vs. Stanton Freidman UFO debate and I have to agree with the skeptic. I want to believe we’ve been visited by aliens (UFO’s) but if they exist they would have been here by now.

I’ve got all of F onto the new Computer. I had to email 2 Chapters at a time to get it here, because gmail couldn’t handle the full 85k document. I doubt even Outlook could. The culprit isn’t so much my email client but rather my pop3 account. But F is here. At the moment though I’m in the re formatting stage because email doesn’t send what you see is what you get. They do to a degree but it didn’t show the rewrite changes when I received the document. Those changes are on the other computer. My W98 machine.

I also felt the need to change the settings back on this computer back to the min settings because it made my Word processing the page look funny.

Anne got her cheaque in and there’s enough for the rent. I get my cheaque tonight. Anne’s out getting us our bus passes and will probably use her debit card to pay for the rent in the office. I was getting a bit worried there but I won’t be able to breath easy until she says “The rents paid up.” If she’s leaving out of here at 3pm, then great. I’ll leave out of here a half hour ahead her and get some books at Coles and walk in to work from there. I’m going to bring a change of t shirt with me because the walk in will be sweaty.

Some good and not so good news. Good news is thanks to the Civic holiday I’ll have Saturday off. Bad news is that’s 2 days off without pay because I had Monday off. Of course I didn’t know until last night what we were going to do. Civic Monday isn’t a stat paid holiday but everything will be running slow on Monday. Anne might suggest I take a long weekend off. So no sooner then that thought came around she called from the Macs store just up here and said she got our bus passes for August. I told her that Monday is more or less optional and if she wanted me to take a long weekend off. Sure. So, I’ll let JT know Friday night I’ll be off for 3 days. Woo Who!

One of the guys, Archie at work and I are wrestling fans. He’s been talking about the Pacific Wrestling Association. (PWA) They usually have shows at Nait in the gymnasium where Anne and I saw “Mini hoops” a few years ago. It was a fun event. But PWA is having their “High stakes” event wrestling show on again at the Nait gymnasium. I went to the PWA website and pleased they have a show here Saturday August 25th. I’ll let Archie and Daryl know about the show when I get in. I talked about it with Anne and she agrees I should go. Should be fun.

Well, it looks like Dustin Penner will end up playing with the Oilers this season. He’s a Todd Bertuzzi style of a player that scored 29 goals. He cold make a nice addition to the Oiler line up. The thing is, what other Restricted Free Agents are out there? Penner’s locked into a 5 year deal. The other thing is, Lowe didn’t know what the new salary cap for the 07-08 season would have been at the time of the Ryan Smyth deal. The thing about RS is that he’s past his prime and if he really wanted to be an Oiler he would have accepted what he got. George Larocque wanted a salary cut to remain with the team. Larocque lives here in his off season and was a real fan favorite. If good ole RS wanted to remain an Oiler then he would have taken a salary cut. RS in Denver will be under a lot of pressure this season and I think the Av’s have got a lemon on their side. As for other RFA, I don’t think Lowe is done yet. He still has about 6 million left to work with. If we can get another couple of Penner style players out there, and get them, then the Oilers will have a kick ass team for the 07-08 season.

So, this looks like a nice weekend. We’ve got the rent paid up, bus passes for August paid up, cell phones paid up. Both Computers restored and functioning normally. Plus the Penner deal seems to have gone through and I have $135 bucks to play with and I get my cheaque tonight. All this and I get 3 days off.

Also, there’s a good chance that I will take the Security guard job but in September. My anniversary is September 15th and from September 15th 2000 -- to September 15 2007 would be 7 years. Seven years of telemarketing is enough. The job has it’s moments and all but I need something different. And from what Amad tells me, they basically need a body in the building. For all I know, they might even need somebody in our office building for the gws position. If so and they can pay me $14/hour, then I’d be hard pressed not to take the job. The whole thing with the job is staying awake. If the gws goes from 10-6am and I’m on the LRT run I could be out and home by 7am. The only fly in the ointment will be the guards license and I’ll be talking to the guard company about that when I go in.

So, tonight it’s leave out of here at 4pm my usual time. I think I just want to buy one book. There’s that anthology I want to pick up so maybe I won’t gather that change of clothing and I can do Coles Saturday while Anne is at work. I’ve got to pick up the payday lotto ticket Daryl and I are sharing and see what the bank report is like. Later pick up my pay cheaque.

The other thing I think I like about the Security guard job is the hours. Four days on and 3 off. I’m going to request Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday as my days off. This way at least once a month I can visit Highlands lodge and I’ll always have Thursday nights off for my regular lodge meeting. Also, Anne is most often, off Saturdays and Sundays. She’s also off on Mondays as well. So Friday we get some time together and Saturday until 9pm. Sunday until 9pm. Monday is a little tough. I’ll miss Raw but I’m going to try and find some way on how to record it. I know Fs has video capture cards. If I can hook up my cable to the card I can record the show onto a DVD and bring it into work the following Tuesday. Same with Smack down and ECW. Same with TNA impact wrestling. I should investigate these TV capture cards on Saturday as well.
