Friday

I’m not worried about JT. If anything he’s probably worried about me not coming in tonight and whether or not this is my last night because of that blow up of his. Even though I’ve got that 3.5 hour shift to endure tonight my long weekend begins-right now.

I don’t recall listening to much Coast last night. I think I listened for about an ten minutes. I think it was mostly an open lines kind of a show. Same as tonight. I got up at 7:30am to do the cbi thing. Actually my sleep was very erratic. An hour or two here and there, getting up to pee that type of thing. Plus I’ve had a soar neck all night long. After the cbi thing I got up to read more from Spin. I’m 2/3rds away from completing the book. I’m enjoying it. I went back to bed about 8am and slept until noon. But I think I got about 7 hours of broken sleep.

Tonight when I get home, I want to watch Smack down and then the news and ECW. When l get up around noon Saturday I’m going to go over to Coles and pick up a few books now that we have the rent paid and most of our bills caught up.

SF Signal wants to point us towards a fan that put together a compendium of the novels of Star Trek. The first page gets you to a series of drop down menus taking you to all the Star Trek novels by series. Using this with Fantastic Fiction (see sidebar) there are over 700 Star Trek Novels since way back in the early 70’s when James Blish began putting them together and Allan Dean Foster after that. William Shattner has been writing Star Trek novels for quite awhile now as well. I don’t know about the other cast of the original series if they‘ve dabbled in writing Star Trek. But this is a pretty good resource for everything related to Star Trek in print. It seems that Star Wars is the next logical progression along this line. Star Wars print isn’t as big as Star Trek. I don’t read a lot of fan fiction but I don’t know if the novels qualify this as fan fic. At any rate check it out.

Also my friend Keith Graham over there at Keith Graham’s wanderings yesterday (see sidebar) has put up a fiction writing challenge. I’m interested. You can get more of the details here.

Anyway that’s all for now..

e. Jim
