Anne rode in on the bus with me and the train into work. She called from the WBI as I was crossing Jasper and 106th. WBI was open until midnight. Great, So that put me in a good mood for today. Another thing at work, it seems there is another round of the management shuffle. JT is now working mornings and afternoons as of next Monday. He’s helping Mike work the business section between business and family. JT said he’d still like to put in a couple of nights/week. I had a slow start for the evening. But I ended up with $346, which is pretty food for re-doing BB again. Rob reset the BB list. I even got a credit card and I think top total. But I don’t say the disclaimer and I don’t think even Bud among others say it. After work I went and walked over to WBI and I picked up 4 books. Three were the beginning of a series. I bought an old Ben Bova novel. Next time, I’m going to shop there, I’m going to write the book title and key that into Fantastic Fiction. I’m going to save them by placing them at the back of a row. That way when I’m ready to go get them, I’ll at least know what I’m picking up. The thing is, these were stand alones back when they first came out some years ago. I used to own many of those books I saw as well years ago. Also, I own many of the new books I have that were in those shelves but in really lousy condition. What I like about the 2nd hand books is the fact they are cheaper to buy and they have a lot of the older books available not found today. I think after I run out of room, I’m going to just go to the library and read the new books there.
Also, (I wasn’t going to mention it) but Mo brought it up that he got his laptop fixed. He said he has all those Buzzcocks songs and he can burn them on a disk for me for tomorrow. Wonderful. That’s good news.
Also, borne out of Robs never ending quest to fill up the Saturday shift he’s paying everybody an extra $2/hour more on their hourly rate, He did something like this before but then began to impose conditions on it. That fell apart in a hurry.
Anyway that’s all for now..
