That was Thursday

I brought Anne’s bag with me to Clairview Station as she had to go to Superstore for some things. I waited at Clairview as she came around about 4:05pm and we caught the train in together. I had a slow night and got my cheaque. Of course less one day. I knew Pat was retiring this month but he said it’s going to be next week. And then he’s done with Xl/telemarketing altogether. Good for him. Some rumors going around why Bart left Xl. Apparently some suggest that it was because of the heat XL had taken from the fallout of that journal article regarding OTH. Bart never said goodbye to anyone. No going out party. Nothing. I think Xl is on a sinking ship and is about to reach bottom. Anyway Mo brought me that Buzzcocks Cd. 18 tracks. Excellent. I’m getting a bit nervous about the job and it wouldn’t surprise me one bit to see my Company one day fold up shop. Maybe not right now but maybe next year. Perhaps in January of 08.

I went to catch my train and was joined by Brent Donaldson. He’s around 20 years old and has some interesting things to say about Black holes and DNA and string theory carrying the conversation with me all the way to Rexall. He’s going to put a Rant on YouTube and I didn’t know you could do that.

Anne made some chilly and rice for lunch. She wants an early night and I think after this I just might do it.

I was going to head over to Shoppers Drug Mart to get needles but then I thought I’d like to get some identification. I need that and my Social Insurance Number so Telus can do an over the phone credit check on me. I want to get a music phone so I can store all my MP3’s on. Have everything in one location. I also need that stuff from Moore’s. I think it’s time I start to put in a few afternoons like I did in June.

Also, last night I heard how The City (Edmonton) is giving away free passes to their pools and recreation centers for low income people. I need to know if Anne and I qualify. If we can and we can go to places like Grant MaCewan College, then fine. I’d take advantage of it and not just ACT.

The other thing is, I’d like to renew my library card. According to pat I might be able to get one of those for free as well. The library card fits into my book buying plans. I decided I’d get 2000 SF/fantasy books. Both used and in new condition. That would basically cover all the books that I had and at one novel/week from 1970 to date. Once I have 2000 books. One Book/week for 37 years, well just a little bit over. Or once I’ve run out of room. Which-ever comes first. After that I’m buying no more books. Every book from there will be borrowed from the library. I vowed never again to sell books for lack of food. From now on if it ever gets to that point, it’s the soup kitchen for me. I don’t think it will ever get to that point though.

Anyway that’s all for now

e. Jim
