Birthday Tuesday come and gone

that was my b-day. I left out of here in a rain that came down pretty heavy but it was just a cell passing overhead. By the time I got down to Clairview it had passed. I met Brent on the train riding with him. He’s another Noam Chomnksy fan.  I barely know anything about Chomsky but from what I have read doesn’t resonate with me. That doesn’t mean I’m Conservative, it just means that I don’t “get” his writing. The “left” think he’s a guru. Personally I’m a political. Meaning I don’t get behind political agendas but I do get behind political causes. If that makes any sense. If there is a cause that I believe in, I don’t care what side of the political fence it’s on.

As for religion I consider myself a Deist.  God (or the grand architect of the Universe) created the Universe’s and then move on. God is always creating universes. The way I see it, God doesn’t care if we live or die or worship him/her or whatever. As long as we realize there was a creative force that created the Universe/s. In other words there is no heaven or hell but what we create right here on earth. Free Will is a human construct. No deity gave it to us. I get asked a lot when people ask me if I believe in an after life. I say yes because Spirit/energy gets changed into something else and I believe that on a deeper level we remember what that energy (reincarnation) was. Like in layers we recall that energy. Human energy is progressive whether it be physical or spiritual. I believe in reincarnation and in this case we incarnate into a higher or more evolved self. Is there a devil, a Satan, only metaphorically?

The above are just some of my ideas on politics and religion. As for local politics go I support the cause not the party. Right now the Conservative Government is the best party for Alberta. I’m not saying that another party will never be good for Alberta down the road. The things that are important to me right now are housing and the economy. People are telling me that the province has stamped down on apartment Condo conversion. If this is a part of Bill C34, then great, it doesn’t mean that our landlord can’t increase our rent. We need rent controls. We also need environmental agendas to stay out of our Tar sands development.

Ok, enough of that. I had a good night this evening on the job. I ended up getting $680 and a $25 credit card. We’re out of the BOB and CF thing. I hope. I think the next ticket thing we’re going to do will most likely be the Legends Hockey. I hope not for a while yet. I called Anne a couple of times and she got me some kind of frozen rib thing at Wallmart. We got out a bit early as well 8:30pm, which was great. The LRT was slow going and it waited for me while I rushed to see it parked there.  I ended up getting home at 9:15pm. I ended up not only having a good night but a pretty nice day for my 55th birthday.

On the way in I wanted to say hi to Ahmed the security guard but he had left. I guess Friday was his last day. Days like this I don’t mind working for Xl.  Possibly next week I’m going to put 3 days in.

That’s all for now,
