SF fantasy and other crap |

I’m still working on the extra scene but I’m thinking that the C’s are becoming to human for me. They are taking on too many human qualities.
Yikes. I slept in today for sure. I wanted to be up around noon. I was in bed early as well (2am) and fell asleep with the radio on until about 3:30am and went to bed until around 6am to do the icb thing and read until about 8am and went back to bed.
After I tinkered around with that scene for F I went off to explore the realm of what, if any free fantasy role-playing games are out there. Then I came across the Exile series from Spiderweb software. I’ve played these before and really enjoyed them but I don’t recall playing Exile 3. I think I’ve downloaded the .exe file from the other day and was left sitting on my desktop for the last couple of days. I didn’t think the file was working because of my browser. But last night I opened this .exe file on my desktop and I didn’t know if this was the game I was looking for or what. I clicked open and the Exile install splash screen came on. Would this install without my Nvidia video card most importantly would it be compatible with my browser? Too my surprise yes, for now. There was a conflict earlier just now and I had to do another W98 improper shutdown. Steady Edie W98 comes through again. I love W98. I began playing a bit of this game before bed, acquiring a party of pre-built characters. This isn’t Xbox style of graphics but I find the games endearing and fun to play. After Exile 3, I’m going to play Exile 4 “Blades of Glory.” Spider web software stopped making the games but they’re still making games and have an active community of gamers. Most likely The Exile games I’ve played were demos and gave me only half of the games. But the ones I played if they were demos were huge games. At the moment Spiderweb software has begun remaking Exile and renaming it “Avernum” and they’ve improved the graphics with the times. They have 5 games in that series and I’d like to play those if my browser supports them and I don’t need a fancy high-end video card since I have no video card anyway.
After all it does say at the bottom of my web page logo “worlds of science fiction and fantasy in your face.” Lately I’ve been ignoring the fantasy element of the worlds of. I don’t write a lot of fantasy. I think I wrote 2 fantasy stories in my life. I’ve read some novels. Terry Goodkind “Sword of Truth” series but put them down after the 2nd book. He's a great writer but I just couldn’t get into it. It was becoming redundant after awhile, kind of like my own banal style of writing. I’ve read a few of John Norman’s Mars series as well but like TG they all read the same. I haven’t read the Harry Potter series because, well let’s face it it’s, a children’s story. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just not my thing. I don’t read young adult. I should read more fantasy and I will after I finish these next 2 books I’m about to read. The fantasy genre is actually as large if not larger then science fiction these days. I mean if looking at the offerings of Chapters books. They separate sf from fantasy. Smaller independent chains don’t. I also want to read some thrillers and mysteries but only the best sellers in those later genres. So from now on, I’m going to have listed in my currently reading and reading next will be one science fiction and one fantasy.
Which leads me to why I want to get a security guard type job—More time to read. Well, in theory that is. I've been on some guard sites that were a drudgery to do. My taste for security guard type jobs have waned over the years since the old pre married Inner tech days. IT was the hardest guard company I ever had to work for.
That’s all for now,
e. Jim
