Another Saturday |

From last night: I went into work as it was nice and mild. Just the way I like it. I got in and we did CPA. Not that I mind really. I got my cheque and Anne called. $265. Not bad. So, I hope I get $65 out of it. I ended up raising $500 2nd high total behind Sebver. Anyway, after work I walked up to the corner and the next block over under a no wind and very nice out there evening. It’s only +9C but it felt more like +18C out there around 8:30pm earlier. I went to my wife’s job and handed her the pay cheque and took the train (extra cars on the train because of a concert) home.
So I got home and opened all the windows to get some air in here. I ended up posting Friday Snippets #3 and a table for a Copywrite notice at the top of the page. I think I’m going to do another Friday Snippets on the weekend for next weekend in case I get busy.
Kind of strange Anne not home by now. I hope she’s all right. I called her phone about 20 min ago It rang but there was no answer. If she got out 10pm she wouldn’t get home until just about now.
Speaking about Friday Snippets, I went to the Holly Lisle site to see her bunch of Friday Snippets that link to her snippet and clicked her links of “Your next.” Her gang of cementers haven’t posted a snippet since around the time she last did herself. Seems kind of strange and rather cliquish to me.
Hey Jim, you might be asking, how come your not watching Smackdown right about now? Good question. Reason is I can’t seem to call up Channel 91. Since Shaw seems to have everything as packages, The Score might be tied into #109, which had Maude, Cosby etc. I asked Anne to cancel #109 under protest opting for G4 Tech TV instead since #109’s programming didn’t appeal to me. All my favorite shows were being replaced for the crappy “Who’s the Boss”, “Roseanne” kind of stuff. The took off Gilligan, Jeanie, all kinds of good stuff. I’ll check and see if I can get #109.
I went to check the channel to see if maybe this was some technical problem at Shaw and fiddled around. I got 94 instead of 91 and my show was nearing the finale half hour. All they did was switch the channel numbers on me. I watched the bit with Batista and Kali and that’s when Anne came home. She had KFC for us. Because I don’t like their greasy chicken I had the chicken burger instead and fries It was good. Then the Theodore Long “Wedding.” That was funny with the little bastard. I’m sorry I missed the bulk of it. I watched all of ECW and enjoyed that. Then an hour of computer and in bed by 2am. I slept until Anne came in at 4am and rested for about 4:30am and again until 6. I think I got 4 hours in and I got up at 6am.
Anyway Anne gave me the $65 bonus money so I can go out and get a couple of books this afternoon after work. When I leave here I’m going to go get a Tim’s breakfast sandwich because Anne didn’t get lunch meat. That’s all right I could use a little treat in the morning before I start. I like Saturdays, even on the job. Chance for some bonus money and the early part of the shift goes by really fast. It’s just the last hour drags on a bit.
A huge couple of milestones this week. First our dollar here in Canada ends up being on par with the US dollar, even if it was for just a few hours. Right now it’s sitting at $99.98US something and could go higher. Also, the price of crude oil jumped to $83! No wonder why the Royalty review panel wants to get it’s share of revenue for Alberta. I’d agree with it if Albertans get another resource cheque like we did in 2005. That $400 helped to buy my digital camera.
Having my first coffee here. I’m torn between buying some books or ordering some books this afternoon. I think what I’ll do first is go to Chapters and see what’s there for me. If nothing looks good then I’ll go to Audrey’s and place a special order. I’m looking at getting Pamela Sargent’s, “Seed” trilogy and Ben Bova’s “Brothers.” Not sure yet. I’ve got a list. Audrey’s order desk first has to see if any of my want list is even available and if they are then I put down 50% So 4 books will run me about $25. I’ll get them for October and get something at Audrey’s. I might just go over there instead anyway. I might be fine now, but around 2pm this afternoon I’ll be exhausted.
