A recap of Yesterday |
|
so, I call Neil at 5:20pm and he wasn’t answering. I called again at just after 6pm and he said, “You didn’t get the email?” This evenings Lodge meeting is canceled because they didn’t get the practice team together so they couldn’t initiate the guy. Okay. I will have a night off and watch a hockey game. Good stuff. Anne gave me a call and I explained what went down. At first she didn’t believe me, The email was sent to my other computer. So I settled into watch the Oiler’s at Phoenix. The Oiler’s won 4-2 and it was a pretty good game. Anne came home here just at the start of the 3rd period.
While I was getting ready to call Neil I was going through some vintage piano video’s on Youtube as I’m going to learn how to play the piano. Hopefully I can free up my vacation pay at the end of the year and get that Yamaha keyboard from The Source priced at $225.it’s an entry level keyboard. So hopefully I’ll have enough for that and to pay for my website for another year and my lodge dues. That’s my Xmas present and I want to get Anne something nice as well.
Speaking of my website, I’m going to go with Markus for at least one more year. He’s got all the URL’s to static pages for all the menus and so far he hasn’t done anything to clean up the menus much less install the new theme for me. If I don’t get anything done on the website this year then the next year will be my last with Markus and I’ll look for more local hosting. I’ll still keep the GL interface because I like GL.
I also finished off that scene as well. It could be a lot better but it will do for now. I’m in the muck of scene #48 right now and I want to try and get up to scene #50 before the end of the weekend.
Like I said earlier this session, I was looking at keyboards. Mostly vintage keyboards and If I was into playing piano in my early 20’s I would have picked up the Gibson G101 G-101 Kalamazoo
Another memory (New Westminster) lane note here. I’m pretty sure the building beside the New West Law courts was my old New West 1974-75 residence. The building shares all the characteristics of my old apartment building. The address of the site is 631 Carnarvon St. It’s listed as the Bench & Gavel building and was built in 1939. When I was living in (?) in this building 1974-75 it did not have an 3rd floor upper level at that time. Even from those aerial shots of the building 1982, these new additions didn’t show a 3rd floor level. I also don’t recall the brick façade as well but the rear side entrance is about right and so is the relation to where it is situated and Columbia street. Today the building sits empty. I’d sure like to know the building’s history and which company owns it but there are only 2 references to this building I could find on Google. I might get lucky at the New Westminster Public Library. There is a real estate sign in the window of the building.
Anyway, that’s all for now.

suitcase keyboard. This is the one that Ray Manzarek used in the Doors giving them that unique sound. Either that or a Vox Continental. The Gibson (if you can find one) is going for something like $2,500. I was checking them out on Ebay|
