I boarded the bus just out here at 4:05pm Tuesday afternoon and headed downtown under gray skies. Actually it was kind of nice out there at about +11C. We didn’t get up to +20C like they were hoping for. That didn’t happen. They got it next door in Saskatchewan and then some but it certain wasn’t cold on my way in. Considering this time last year we had snow on the ground. I waited for a bit outside by Tim’s enjoying the air. There was J and some of his buddies leaving About 4:35pm I decided to head on into the office meeting little midget guy James White. Nice guy. I got my seat beside Gary and saw Will saying how I was with Anne at her Doctors. No worries. At Kick off Rob not the boss Rob, and Donny are going to be running the phone room. We ended up doing Block Parents. I did ok on that and a $20 credit card. They were mostly interested in credit cards today. Gary and I had a bit of fun there this evening. I got to $685 by the end of the night. We were playing for every credit card we get 1 minute off early. We ended up with 20 credit cards and they were taking their time in shutting us down to count totals dangerously watering the 20 minutes down from 20 to 15. I was glad to get out of there. They paid us until 9pm. I called Anne at the same time she was calling me. She got off early as well and was leaving Clairview n the #183 home. I’d be a bit away from her. At Rexall I asked what the score of the hockey game and the bad news in the 2nd period was 3-1 Av’s. I got home to watch the last bit of the 3rd period. The Oilers even scored to pull within one and gave a good effort. They lost 4-2 in an empty net goal. Ryan Smyth went home scoreless even though the Oilers lost 4-2 into an open net in the dying seconds of the game. The Oilers were playing pretty good and give them a few more games and they’ll hit their stride.
Last night we were in bed by 3am and Coast was lousy. Bob Larson was on talking about Demonology and exorcism. Boring. Especially those so called “demon possession” tapes of his. The good news like Silvia Brown, he’s not on very often.
Weather forecaster were calling for +22C Tuesday afternoon. Yeah right. More then likely +16C. If that even. We’ve been getting some crazy weather this part of the world lately. In the Carolinas they’ve been starved for rain. In Vancouver and the west coast they’ve been getting up to 80cm of rain and more on the way. In the San Diego/Malibu area grass fires have gone out of control and have burned down dozens of homes. The Governor and even President Bush has declared the area a state of emergency. Last night George on Coast asked what did the person think he interviewed was the cause of all this? “we’re not concerned with that now, we just want the situation under control.” We know what’s fueling the flames of those grass fires is the strong Santa Anna winds. No kidding. Closer to home we’re looking at +16C and for this time of year, that’s pretty remarkable.
I got up about 5am Tuesday morning and read for an hour and a half and then did the cbi thing. I was back in bed by 6:30am. I’m enjoying this Julie E. Czerneda Trade pact Universe book 1. Amazing writing. I wonder if she uses an outline. I can see where Jennifer Wingert draws her influence from. The thing I’m liking about this book, is it’s ease of use while striking a balance between story telling and character. I’ll hope to finish the book by the end of the month and I’ll give a more in depth review. Also, this Friday I’m going to order the other two in the series and read Joe Haldeman’s “Camouflage” while I’m waiting for the 2 “Trade Pact Universe” books to show up. And if that’s not enough on my reading plate, I’m going to read, well check out my reading list in the right sidebar.
Anyway, I’m about ready for bed and listen to a bit of Coast. Well George’s other news. Right now they’re talking about the fires in California.
Anyway, that’s all for now
