Another Wednesday post

Wow, according to the weather pixie, temperature is +21C! For late October? This is unheard of. The breeze coming through my window is very nice right now. It feels like a nice Spring afternoon, in the fall. But we’ve got 4 months of winter ahead of us. Actually contrary to popular belief, our winters aren’t that bad here. A typical winter here starts about mid November with first snow falling on the ground around Remembrance Day. November 11th.or the 15th to that affect. We usually have snow on the ground by the Gray Cup game and this is around the 3rd Sunday in November. But usually in November we’re looking at temperatures around the -6C - +1C.

It’s in December we get all our snow and the cold weather by Christmas time. First night can usually be about -25C. Now that’s cold. Ice crystals in the air. Here’s a shot I just took from out my window at 2pm this afternoon. The netting in the way kind of makes things darker then it usually is.

Anne’s coming into work with me this afternoon getting off at Bay Station. The stop before mine. About half a mile outside of Stadium everything is all underground except for the brief window when the train crosses the North Saskatchewan river, then it goes back underground again until it pokes up at the University Hospital or Health Sciences. Anne just told me, the temperature is +23C right now. It’d be nice if we can get this for the next couple of days. I’d be happy with even +10-+14C for over the weekend.

Early this morning I attempted to join Holly Lisle’s online writing group. I don’t know if I’ll be accepted as she’s only taking on 20 participants. I filled out the survey and subscribed to her newsletter. If I get accepted this might help me with my writing and take it to another level. I’m not going to hold my breath or anything. I’ve never done anything like this before. I don’t join writers groups or workshops. Not because I don’t find value in them but because most of them require some form of payment. Holly Lisle does everything first class. When I saw this opportunity on her website this morning I jumped at the chance to sign up. I’ll keep you posted on this over the next few days.

Adsense. Well, I sent their help forum a question about my site and if it’s approved yet. I probably won’t get an answer until later when I come home from work. Hopefully I’ll have an answer.

Anyway, that’s all for now

e. Jim
