That was Thursday an edit and juggling time |

well that was interesting. I left out of here about 4:10pm just as the Sun was setting. The Sun sets these days about 4:30pm. I think it’s low is about 4:10pm and that’s December 21st then it climbs back up again about 2 min/day. Anyway, I got into the office about 4:15pm and Greg and I began the process of setting up my Shaw digital home phone for Cw. The hook up appointment is for Next Friday between 12pm-2pm. I’ve even got the phone number. There is no hook up fee and the first month ($55) is free. Greg said he’d pay for it there after. I even have a thousand free international calling minutes as a one time thing. This way if I want I can call Markus. I felt pretty good about that. We did CCSD again and I had $415 by break. So far so good. I gathered the radio and set it for the hockey game. The Oilers were doing really well and were even ahead for awhile. I had a chat with Anne, read the paper and I ended up getting just over $1,000 by the end of the shift and I ran out and got my cheque from Will to avoid the rush. It was a bit stressful heading out because Anne wanted me to come over to her place of work and I wasn’t about to get dragged all across the downtown Core again to get my $20 allowance. I got Anne to wait for me at Bay Station and she came on the train. I gave her my cheque and she got off at the next stop Central station to go to the bank.
I wanted to get home to catch the last bit of the Oiler/Wild game but the train stalled at Churchill for about 5 minutes-last stop out of the tunnel. So after a bit of a wait at Clairview and Anne calling me as I’m crossing the street out by my place. I got in took everything off and there were the Oilers congratulating Rolly. Some long faces there. The announcer told the rest of story how they lost again, with Rolly. Thanks for nothing Rolly. Hopefully McT will have Garon in for Saturday nights game against the Flames, here. I can’t wait.
The other thing is, I’ve been hearing a lot on the news lately is Prince Rupert and it’s deep water port. There are a few already established on the west coast of the country such as Vancouver but Vancouver (or so I heard) can’t take the extra volume when Asian trade starts opening up. What makes Prince Rupert so exciting for Edmonton is that Edmonton has the established rail infrastructure of the nearest largest city next to Prince Rupert. It’s expected that Asian trade will grow up to 200% in the next 30-60 years and as Alberta tar sands oil begins to run out around that time frame, it’s expected that Asian trade will help to replace Alberta’s reliance on oil as it’s prime economic resource. The Prince Rupert port is already becoming a busy port dropping off container traffic. The thing is Alberta is a free trade zone and with that the province can assemble goods for market rather then the whole part of the product.
This morning I’m getting back to F. I’m not that far away from the end of 2nd rewrite of the story. I really want to get a hard copy out so I can haul parts of that around with me and work on F on the commute into work. The thing is I’ve got so many things going on. Writing this novel should be top priority and lately I haven’t been giving the time it deserves. I want to do at least an hour of writing weekdays and more on the weekends. I also want to put in at least an hour of Cw/day, an hour of reading/day, and when I get the organ an hour of practicing/day. Once my Cw bank starts coming in and I get a steady stream of Cw income rolling in, I also want to have the odd night off to be able to watch an Oiler hockey game and start playing more ASL. I’d love to play at least once/week even if it’s just a short scenario during the weeknights. My ASL playing skills have been dwindling/non existent over the last 10 years.
Also, I got my $20 allowance last night and if all goes well I hope to get those reward points Anne wants to give me. I’d like to have them for Island ink so I can get toner refill and get a hard copy of F. It would have been nice if I could toner refill at City center mall but I doubt it. If I get the reward points tonight I’m going out shopping Saturday.
Anyway, that’s all for now
e. Jim
