Recap of Saturday |
|
basically it’s been a pretty good day yesterday. I got into work without incident and bought my Tim’s breakfast sandwich. Will even brought donuts into work too. Woo Who. I got my chocolate banana cream. Bud and I had the two end dialers and Will gave only us 2 the big taps for CCSD. I got x2 $50 credit cards and for which I receive $5 each/$10 bucks on my next cheque. I even won $4 bucks on the Nevada. We were playing the credit card for time game again and we were doing so well that we had 20 minutes by break. Bud and I were tied at break by I think about $400 each. We ran out of the big taps about 12:30pm and worked out the rest of the shift getting off a half our early because we got 30 credit cards = 30 minutes. I ended up with $625 for the shift. Not to badly for a depelted source. I called Audrey’s outside the building and none of my 3 Honor Harrington books had arrived yet and neither did the other title, Julie C. Czerneda's “In the Company of others.” It’s on back order. So I went to the lrt and got the train home. Anne called me at Clairview on her way from another errand she had to do. We made connections and met there at Clairview Station and she went to the train I went home.
Over the past several months my wife has kept saying that someone that lives here in our block has been breaching our apartment and taking things like cat food and other foodstuff items. Somebody other then the caretaker has a skeleton key and watching our movements outside of the apartment. The caretakers live on the ground floor facing the entrance as we leave, we even suspect the caretakers themselves of ileagaly entering our suite. So we wedged a paper in between the top door frame and the door when we leave. If it's been tampered with when we return, we know there's been a breach. So far so good. I recall one day this last summer when I was about ready to leave for work as Anne left before me she had unknowingly let Pledges out in the hallway as she was leaving for work before I discovered him missing and heard him crying on the other end of the door. The caretaker, doing her rounds used the key to let him inside. I was hiding behind the door in my underwear at the same time I heard pledges crying and if I wasn't there trying not to expose myself, she might have come in all the way. So shortly after that inident I ended up hiding all my new books in my vacant computer desk drawer. We speculate that all anyone wanted was foodstuff items anyway. I decided last night that enough of this and I brought my books back out and replaced them on the shelf. This is crazy. There, all my recent books from the last year are out.
When I’m done “Camouflage,” I’m going to read “The New Space Opera” by Gardner Dozois. It’s a hefty size anthology. 18 stories in 515 pages. I’m going to try and read one story/every 2-3 days or so, which should take me until the end of the year. When I’m done that my first book in January will be Timothy Zhan’s “Night train to Rigel.” February will be Erich Brown’s “Helix.” I'll post a cover of “Helix” with Library Thing when I’m done with “Camouflage,”
So for today, it’s not much. I’m going to work a bit more on F overnight before bed and some more for the rest of Sunday. I hope to have the 2nd rewrite completed by next weekend. It might be tough because of lodge night Friday and working 7 hour days but I'll see what I can do to finish the 2nd rewrite off at least before the end of the month.
Anyway, that’s all for now

when I got home I went on the computer for an hour and a nap for about an hour after that and Anne came home. We had lunch and before long was my Oiler game and at 8pm. At 9pm was TNA impact wrestling. I haven't been following this a lot lately. The game was pretty good but The Flames out played the Oilers big time. Garon was in net but mid way through the 2nd the Flames found a way to beat him. I watched TNA in between commercial breaks. The Oilers received lousy officiating as usual and by the end of the 2nd period it was 2-0 Flames. I knew at this point the way the Flames were toying with the Oilers all night, the chances of the Oilers winning the game were slim to none. Anne was pulling out the Christmas tree and decorations and for the most part that kept her busy. I spent more time watching TNA in the 3rd period but checked in to now and then to see how the Oilers were coming along as Anne was having fun decorating the tree. I saw Cogliani’s one and only goal and that was it for the Oilers. Flames (the better team) won 3-1. The Oilers barely showed up. Despite the Oilers losing, I had a great night. I’m thinking about substituting next Tuesday night for Tuesday morning so I can watch the Vancouver at Oilers game. We’ll see. Chicago is in town for next Saturday where I get to do it all over again when it’s Chicago at Edmonton.|
