well it seems that it wasn‘t the include tags because Markus says he didn’t add them in because they would have shown up on my site. Yikes. Not good. I ended up making some small changes to my front page. First the "About me:" I changed it into a kind of like a “Mission statement” Things got a bit too confusing with too many “About me things” in the left sidebar. I’ll be removing them shortly. I also changed the opening of my website. Before, it read “Hello and Welcome to my website.” Now it reads “Welcome to my science fiction/fantasy website.” Helps the crawlers a bit more. I might change it to Homepage. So at least my site has now been indexed by Google and that’s a good thing. The other thing I’m thinking about doing is to ask Markus to build me another block and have the Mission statement as a centre block right under the Welcome to my science fiction/fantasy website. This will free up some more space for an Amazon Ad and then that’s it for Ads.
So, today, I’m going into work put my 4 hours in and come home watch wrestling. Speaking of which, it didn’t seem like I missed a heck of a lot in yesterdays big pay per view “Survivor series.” I always order “King of the Ring” and “Wrestlemania” anyway. Y2J back tonight?
I’ve only got a few scenes left to go in F before I wrap up the 2nd rewrite. I won’t be doing much about it until after the holidays. Right now it’s just going to sit there for a bit. In the meantime, I want to work on a short story and shop it around. Maybe get it published in a print pro market. I’d kind of like to get it published by “On Spec” here in Edmonton. That’s my first choice but I’m going to avoid the ezines with this next SF short story. I've got a few ideas for a couple of stories.
We’ve got a beautiful day out there. It’s about +2C but the humidity helps to keep temperatures mild as I think we’re right under the jet stream.
Actually I’ve been hearing more about Prince Rupert. It seems that it’s the deepest port in North America and can handle the larger tanker cargo ships.
Edmonton is poised to be the gateway to the rest of North America for Asian trade when it picks up due to Prince Rupert Port expanding. The containment traffic corridor will be Prince Rupert/Prince George/Edmonton. So when the Tar sands oil dries up in another 60-80 years and the Asian Trade route opens up, look out world. Of course we’ll be experiencing the benefits of Prince Rupert within the next couple of years. I imagine Prince Rupert will be for unloading and sorting, Prince George will be for processing and Edmonton will be for assembly and shipping because of the railway infrastructure we have here. Actually just outside of Edmonton City council is lobbying to have a massive warehouse built just to receive containment car traffic. When that goes through the job growth here in the Capital region will pop through the roof even more then it is now. We’re quite excited about it here.
So tonight when I go in if I can intercept Rob, I’m going to see if I can pull in a morning shift for just tomorrow and Friday. Reasons for this are for the hockey game tomorrow night and the lodge thing Friday night. I don’t want to lose any hours along the way. When I’m up at 6:30am those days I'll just stay up and leave out of here at 8:00am. The shift is from 9am to 1pm and I’m out of there at 1pm a little on the groggy side but when I come home Anne can fix me something to eat and I’ll have a nap and get along with what ever it is I have to do for that night.
I’m almost done reading “Camouflage” as well. The ending is kind of strange because it seems like it’s setting things up again. I’ve got another 47 pages left to go with it and it's all setup. The book also doesn’t appear to have a sequel so if there’s a conclusion to this read, it better end soon. Of course I'll post a bit of a review to the book. I’m looking forward to getting into “The new Space Opera.” next.
Anyway, that’s all for now
