Weekend to short

that was an interesting weekend. It started with having my Friday night off. I went to Strathcona lodge #77. First time ever at Acacia Hall. I’ve been to the Masonic Hall downtown but never as a Mason. This was my first ever visit to another Lodge, even though the ritual was long. I wouldn’t mind going again especially if I had Saturdays off. Then of course it was into work Saturday morning and a bit of Saturday afternoon. I went to City Center Mall and had a look at the keyboards at The source. We didn’t do any calling with Cw at all on the weekend but I’m going to make a few calls this morning. I had a bit of a nap Saturday afternoon but that wasn’t really enough. I watched the Oiler/Chicago game. I got a few good ideas for my next novel I didn’t get around to finishing the 2nd draft yet of “F” but I will before the month is out. I want to begin “Dark intruder” January 1st and of course have a complete outline for it as well. Sunday I got some additional story info for “DI.” I read some more from “The New Space Opera.” I’m almost done with the first story. The first story is really hard to follow and difficult to read. Sunday was Grey Cup Sunday and I enjoyed the game. I wasn’t really pulling for any one side to win. And of course the big news today is the blizzard we’re getting out there.

This morning I’m p around 10:00am and I want to call Cw for an hour. I don’t care if even I make any sales. I just want to get used to the pitch. There’s not a lot to call but old files. All the good source was had long before I got to it.

After Cw I’m going to work on F and gradually wake up. Today it’s into work at my regular time. I’m going to try and see if I can work say Wednesday morning because I wouldn’t mind catching that Oilers/Av’s game on TV. There’s nothing much going on this week. It’s going to be pretty slow. But I’ll still be here to make a couple of Blog reports anyway this week. Of course tonight is my wrestling.

Also this week I want to contact Irving house (Ih) new Westminster. I’m looking for aerial photographs of Downtown New Westminster in the 70’s. Also, photographs of the new Law courts building breaking ground and under construction. I’d like to also get a photograph of the area of Douglas College prior to when they tore down the other buildings on the site. I’d like other shots of the Bench & Gavel building (my old residence) (?) I don’t know if Ih has anything like that but maybe they can point me to sources that do. I might even call Ih right after Cw because they are an hour behind us in BC. If memory serves me properly the site the new Law Courts building is on now used to be a parking lot. Before that it used to be the old New Westminster Public Library. The site was demolished for their current premises in I think 1956. The land had been a parking lot then for a good 18 years.

About Cw though, I’m a little fuzzy on what the procedure is. Does the customer sends in a cheque or a money order and then we send them a subscription? Who writes for Cw? I think I need to go to the website and check around. They’ve got monthly updates and feature stories. Is the magazine like an OTH program? Nothing but ads? I need a copy of the magazine. Greg didn’t really leave me with a lot of information to work with to do the job.

Anyway, that’s all for now

e. Jim
