Having a good Saturday so far

trying out a different font here and a graphic. Last night I went into work out in the cold. It was a bit chilly waiting on the platform but I had $20 bucks with me and a bit of change. I felt pretty good. My train came along and I was glad to get on it to warm up. Heading across the parking lot was also brisk but I endured. I got BB’s dialer and felt pretty good. Lev came in and I poured a coffee. Mo was told to do WCS. Gary and Jason were over on the other side of the post and were loud and obnoxious as usual. I mean they’re nice enough guys and all. Too a point but their loudness kind of threw my rhythm out of whack. I was glad they left at 7pm. Jason the fellow from East India I had a run in with a couple of months back went with them. I like Jason now. He’s quiet and does his job. We get along ok. I called Audrey’s books from my handy cell phone and hey I have some books in. All three of my David Weber books are in and the Julie E. Czerneda “In the company of others.” and an anthology-“Science fiction the best of the year 2007” by Rich Horton. Good stuff. I had a lousy night pulling in barely $195. Hopefully I’ll have a better day of it for today when I go in for the morning shift. We played the credit card minutes off and we got out 10 minutes early. Anne got out early as well but got 4 hours in. She called me as I headed back out across the parking lot to Audrey’s. My hands were getting cold from the wind chill so I had to duck out the call until I crossed the street and inside Audrey’s. I decided to pick up the 2 stand a lone books and I paid for them in American prices. Of course when the dollar climbs back down so goes the deal. But then since I’m an Audrey’s book club member I get book club points towards books. For every 100 points I get $10 towards a book. Since most mass market paperback books are about $11 CND a book will cost me $1-2 bucks. It’s like saying for every 10 books I buy I get one free. Good deal.

I felt happy in my purchase and braved the coldness outside to Corona station and warmed up waiting for the lrt. I realized there was a hockey game on but no point in putting the radio on since I had shopping to do afterwards. I called Anne as she was at home waiting for me and I was about ready to pass out on the bus. I got in and checked on the hockey game. AI think there were 6 minutes left. What’s this the Oilers are winning 5-1? Wow. The thing is LA won against SJ as well the other night. The Oilers are still in last place but at least winning games. There are a couple of Oiler rumors going around. One sees Raffi Torres being traded for Columbus. The other is Boston’s Glen Murray but I don’t see it happening. Anyway, the Oilers won the game and that win moved them right up from last place to 12th. Wow.

Anyway, after the post game reactions I entered my totals into my calendar and did some Internet stuff and Anne made me some lunch and I watched the news. N o Market listings tonight. Not much going on this weekend in the City. Today I’m going into work for my Saturday shift and a Tim’s breakfast sandwich and put my 4 hours in. More like 3 by the time we get kick-ff out of the way and our break and out early. After work I’m going to make a dent in that Cw file and hopefully I can fill up a sale sheet. I’d like to hand 2 of them in by Thursday. For tomorrow night since there’s no hockey game on just TNA impact wrestling, I’m going to work on “F” and finally finish that off and break for wrestling. Sunday evening I’ve got an encore match of the Oilers in Anaheim. It’s not going to be pretty in Anaheim for the Oilers folks.

Also, Sunday afternoon I’m going to work on that short story as well. I’ve got some interesting ideas for it. So if things work out ok, I might even get some Cw calling in for Sunday and finish that sales sheet and get some headway on the short story. I hope to have the rough draft done by next weekend. Anyway, I went to bed at midnight and I passed out but got up around 2am and decided I’d stay up for a few hours and go back to bed for 3 more hours.

Anyway, that’s all for now

e. Jim
