Monday again

Anne made me a nice soup and sandwich for my lunch around midnight. Previous to that I worked on my story. Still no title for it.

Upon looking at the specs a bit closer The Yamaha EZ150 has a midi in and out connection but that only hooks up to the sound card. I need to take another look at the EZ150. I can also get a USB/Midi adapter cable so I can hook up the keyboard to my computer. Problem solved.

Anyway, I had a nice weekend. I did a bit of writing even though I didn’t do any Cw. I got a bit of writing in and some reading. Amazing what can be accomplished when there’s no hockey.

Earlier while going over my blog rolls, on Robert J Sawyer’s blog he’s introducing his friend and fellow Tor author Walter Hunt. I’ve never heard of this fellow. But he’s an SF author that blogs and I’m always looking to check out pro SF authors that blog. I went to his site and it didn’t take me long enough to learn he’s an avid Freemason. He seemed to be in my age group as well. It seems he is in Toronto on some kind of Masonic activity. So I decided to post a comment on his blog with a brief introduction of me being a Mason as well and an aspiring SF author. I asked him what Masonicly is going on in Toronto this weekend? So far he has yet to respond.

On my plate today, I’m going to try and get up early around 11am and do some Cw calling. I still want to hand in a sales sheet this week. Anne’s joining me on a rare going into work together trip as she’s doing the 4:30pm shift. We’ll both leave out of here together. And when I get in I’ll confirm if Rob faxed my vacation pay release form into Calgary‘s head office. With any luck at all, I hope to have my vacation pay in this week. I can pay Markus for my 2008 website fee on Saturday after the staff party. At 6:30pm Greg and I will be listening to the Oiler at Dallas hockey game. Then of course when I get home, I’ll be watching Raw. Hopefully at work I’ll be able to steal away and make a couple of Cw calls and maybe make a few sales.

Speaking about my website, Markus has been saying that GL is working on a social book marking feature. Those little icons after each blog post. For an example of this, see Keith Graham’s Wanderings for what I mean. I signed up for Digg, Del.icio, stumble upon Reddit and of course Google. Speaking of Digg, they are the same people (Kevin Roes and Alex) that used to work out of G4’s tech TV show a couple of years ago, formally called The Screen Savers. I miss the original Screen Saver’s show. This “Attack of the Show,” isn’t bad but it’s not as good when Leo and Patrick were hosting the show. ATOS seems to smart-alecky and too Corporate to hold my interest. The Screen Savers was friendly and they didn’t talk down to their audience. The only good thing about Tech TV now is “Labs with Leo,” “Cnet” “Xplay” and “Reviews on the Run.” I also like “Gadgets” as well. But all of this Torrent and anime crap is just ruining it for me. I also used to like Dave Chalk’s tech TV show as well with Dave and Nigel Williamson. Williamson voice can often be heard on some of G4’s Tech tip spots

Anyway that’s all for now.
