I was in bed by 2:30am. Not for any other reason besides I was wiped out. I slept pretty good to from 2:30 until just before 7am. A good 5 hours. It was hard getting back to sleep after that. I think I dozed off here and there and we got the parade of cats coming in. I think I might have got another 3 hours. So, I’m ok.

Right now I’m enjoying my first coffee and the weather is more seasonal. Less artic like conditions. Arctic like weather is -20-30C. We haven’t received anything like that during the day yet. We have about 3 inches of snow on the ground. It’s still technically autumn out there. Sun sets at 4:15pm. By the time I get into work, 4:35pm it’s dusk. Completely dark at 5pm.

Last week on Global news they mentioned how Boardwalk was going to charge their tenants for heat. It was announced last night that, Global made an error. It’s not heat it’s electricity. That means the electricity in the hallways to keep the lights on in the building so cleaning crews can still use vacuum cleaners and such. It’s not going to amount to a lot, basically it translates into $30/month the news caster said. In this climate of gouging landlords and escalating rents, I’d contest that. The original lease says heat and water included and it says nothing about an additional electrical bill. It violates the lease agreement. And for those that don’t have a lease agreement to violate they should have the right to have a lease agreement. A lease agreement is technically one year. It means the rent can not increase for one full year. It’s frozen. With a lease agreement our rental complex can’t increase the rent for another year. Now, were not Boardwalk properties. I don’t think Charles’s building is Boardwalk because his rent is reasonable for a one bedroom. It sounds like it’s my old building 9710. That would mean the Andersons don’t own it anymore. Interesting.

So tonight, I’m going into the job and bring my two sales in. Greg has my $25 bucks. Most likely we started OTH last night. I suggested to Anne that we ought to order us a pizza for tonight. If Rob put my vacation pay request in yesterday then chances are I should get it this Thursday. That means I’ll be picking up that keyboard Saturday after work head home change and then Anne and I can come back downtown for the staff party. After the party we can go over to Money Mart and I can order up my website for another year. Hopefully I’ll have enough for my lodge dues as well, but Anne and I are going out for our own Christmas dinner at the Sawmill on the 23rd. But the website is going to be $90CND and my lodge dues will be $100. If Rob sent those invoices out from our sale sheet last week, that’s about $112 if it all comes in at once, which I doubt it will. The thing is I want to have enough for our dinner and to buy Anne a present. Lodge dues might have to wait until mid January.

The other thing is in January almost right after the New Year, I’ll be investigating a sgj. I’ve got the place in mind as well. But for now, it’s going to be part time. Most likely I’ll be applying Friday January 4th. Now if I can get hired on and suited up Saturday after work. They might have a site in mind for me. As long as it’s indoor. That means that Saturday/Sunday night, will be pretty hectic. The following Monday I’ll be running down to Edmonton Police to apply for a criminal record check. If the misdemeanor charge isn’t a problem (28 years ago) and I get the license, that week then great. I’ll give Xl a bit of a notice and just work weekends and with any luck at all, if I can handle the patrolling etc, I should be out of Xl mid January. I’d want Wed/Thur off. I’d still do Cw for Greg and Rob but if I can get hired on and keep the sgj and it’s on an lrt run 20/40 patrolling, all inside “Oh, then it’s $18/hr for graveyard shift.” I’d bring a little laptop along my lunch reading material and my cell phone. Anne’s not home until 1pm anyway and the times she’s home early is even better. That’d be about $2500/month. That’s almost 3 times what I’m making now (USS) plus Cw. What’s even better is I can even listen to Coast as well. I was doing that in 1999 working at the apartment site, Greentree village.
