I went into work a bit on the late side this afternoon. I found my seat and ended up having a dismal evening $160! Most of the people were not home. I got an update on the hockey game. Oilers were leading at the end of the first. I managed to give Neil a call to wish him and his a Merry Christmas and mentioned how I got a keyboard as my Christmas present. I told him how I learned the first half of the “Imperial march song.” I thought imagine how the brethren would react to that when the Sc Deacon opens the lights. That brought a reaction out of him. He says he was playing at the age of about 6! Wow. I got 4 sales and no credit cards that evening. I was glad to leave out of there with my voice intact.
I got to Audrey’s and they had my Honor Harrington book there and Roger MacBride Allen’s “Shores of Tomorrow.” I thought this was the Forgotten Realms book Trevor said if I didn’t want to pick it up, I didn’t have to. I think he said this because they accidentally shelved the Honor Harrington book for. I thought “Shores” was an Omnibus. Not. I probably should have picked up Cory Doctorow’s latest. That’s ok, nobody can say I’m not good to my word. I wished him a Merry Christmas. He’s going to go to Vancouver for the holidays. The Forgotten Realm’s books hadn’t come in yet. I got a decaf at an empty Tim’s on the way home I probably should have had a donut because my bsl was dropping. When I got home I got comfortable and got everything together to catch what looked like NJ congratulating their goal tender. Seems the Oilers lost 3-1. I still have my $40 reward points and $53 cash.
Anne ordered her reward points tonight and with any luck at all I hope to get the $200 for my lodge dues and website.
Anne made us a nice lunch and I watched the news. Anyway, today I’m in for the job. In our little OTH hockey staff pool, our team is ahead by about 12 points. But credit card King JT got 9 of them yesterday and so did John McD. Then with Anne’s reward point’s I’m going to brave the last minute Mall crowd and spend the points on some more books and get a bite to eat. Then have 4 days off. Hopefully we’ll win the first round of OTH and I can get that $50 in. Maybe even some Cw will come in.
This national Telemarketing “Do not call list” thing was in the news again. Seems it was awarded by Bell. I think fundraising companies and survey’s are exempt from the list. But this might put the kibosh thing on Cw. If this list is for all out-bound Call Centers then our jobs are on the line. A lot of charities will suffer like the Heart and Stroke campaign that requires call center agents to ask for volunteers to raise recruiters. If it’s an across the board register then Anne and I could be in trouble. But we’ve had this thing going on for years now. The thing is to become employed in an inbound Call Centre like Pizza, Ticket master, that type of thing. This is another reason why I need to have a back up.
