That was Monday

I had a nice relaxing ride into the job and did some more reading. I learned from one of the guys whom I met in the upper concourse of Corona station, that Danny’s team won the $50 OTH bonus. Good news. I got dialer #13 and poured a coffee. I called Mothers music and asked about the PSR-E450 Yamaha keyboard. $279 (including the adaptor) We paid the same price for the E150 and bought the $30 adapter later. The E150 doesn’t have the same sound quality of the PRS and I think the E150 sounds a bit thin and tinny on the piano part. I’m going to have to try and sell the E150 and upgrade but that won’t be until the Spring. We had a slow crew tonight of about 20 people in the office.

Greg and I were able to listen to the Oiler game at work and the Oilers were winning 3-0 when I left the office. I ended up with $735 in the best total I had in a long time. With the Oilers playing it also meant extra cars on the train coming home when the Oiler’s play at Rexal. When I got home Anne said the Oiler’s won 4-0. I'm a happy guy. I ended up doing some admin stuff and went into Raw over time and missed the first 15 minutes of the show. It was a pretty good show from Las Vegads. The only thing I didn’t manage to do last night but I tried was to contact Service Canada for the CPP forms. I tried but the line was busy. I’ll be trying this week.

Markus fixed my mission statemnet and placed it in white font on my orange logo. It kind of reads like Keith’s. Markus needs to center the white font a bit better though. It kind of looks sloppy. He also has a photo of me but he’s having some PC trouble lately but promises he will get to upload it soon. I’ll have the photo of me up in a block, hairy fore arms and all. I’m not sure it’s a good picture. I think I’ll put on a shirt next time and have Anne retake it. Hopefully this new one will be about the same pose and a bit better quality.

L. Ron Hubbard/Scientology was in the entertainment news yesterday. A book about L Ron Hubbard/Scientology states Suri Cruise claims that the Scientology leader is her biological father and that Tom Cruise is the #2 leader of the Church of Scientology. I thought David Miscavige was in control of Scientology. I recall where I was when I read the news of L. Ron Hubbard’s death. I was at Cobogo warehouse Army & Navy in my little office when I opened the newspaper to the news after the weekend. I have the newspaper clippings of the event in my old diary January 29th(I think) 1986. But I didn’t know about his death until after that weekend. Most likely on the following Wednesday. I was 33 at the time chasing after Chrissie. I always admired L. Ron Hubbard mainly for his work as a science fiction writer but also what he attempted to do in Scientology. I don’t agree with Dieanetics and it’s aims but I respect the man for what he did.

Still no word in yet from the New Westminster public Library about my photo search. It might be a tall order for them, I don’t think they can get it done in two days. Even if they can hunt one down for me I might have to pay a small charge to obtain it. Ten or $20 I won’t mind. I hope it’s a good shot and spread over several years and from different angles. Especially 1974 of the Bench & Gavel building showing the income tax place below and maybe a shot say 1979 showing the City breaking ground for the Law courts building. That’d be cool.

Basically I had a pretty good night tonight. I ended up with $145 in credit cards and a $10 bonus. All in all a pretty good night for a Monday.

Anyway, that’s all for now.

e. Jim
