Wednesday

I caught my 4pm bus into work feeling ok. I got a dialer on the other side of the wall only to find out from Bud that Severe wouldn’t be in tonight due to a dental appointment. So I went and scooped up his dialer right away beside Bud. I’m glad I did. I ended up with $650 by break and 4 credit cards. I tried calling Anne and I didn’t get around to CPP yet. I couldn’t reach Anne. I ended up having a great rest of the night doing 5 credit cards for another $10 bucks in bonuses. Plus we did OTH for the last hour and a half and I got a 2004 $60 ticket tap. The guy said he could do this on a credit card. I don’t know if I got his address right. So I got our team an extra point due to the credit card. I received $12 in bonuses just from last night alone for $22 on the week so far. And it’s only Wednesday and Wednesday's shift hasn't started yet. I managed to talk with Anne on the train on the way home talking to Charles before that. Anne wanted to go pick up the Pizza as I should have let her but she said she left the $40 on the fridge. Yikes. That was sloppy. I couldn’t wait to get home to see if the cash was where I left it. Relief when it was there.

So I have the money for my website to buy the 60 Euro’s for later today. I’m going over to Money Mart across the street and place the order. Hopefully I’ll have some left over to buy a book or to save for Saturday towards the uncashed reaward points and go into City Center mall and buy my books.

On Coast tonight Paranormal investigator and columnist for Skeptical Inquirer, Joe Nickell will discuss his latest work on the Shroud of Turin as well as his investigations of spontaneous human combustion, hauntings and the Nazca Lines. First Hour: Neopagan priest Isaac Bonewits will talk about witchcraft and rituals. Sounds like a good show.

Other then ordering the Euro’s I’ve got nothing much going on for today. There’s no hockey game tonight that I know of, instead of the Oil Kings. They won 4-0 against Saskatoon last night here at Rexal. Good for them.

Charging my cell phone above the white tower. I like my cell phone I just wish it had a redial feature and AM radio. It's a good phone but Anne and I can't connect underground. My wish list for a cell phone would be AM radio. I'd like to have the Oiler games and Coast on this phone but any cell phone with AM radio needs to have a large antena. Battery life would also be an issue. I need AM radio. FM radio sucks.

I couldn't resist another photo. The dark kitty is Sliky, the white guy is Sporty. Two different litters about 5 years apart. They get along so well.

When Anne got home she ordered Piazza hut. Usually it's good but tonight it sucked. She suspects that she got sombody elses piazza. It was dreid out and very little sauce when it came to the door. We tried getting a credit but no dice. She wanted to go pick it up because she usualy gets what she wants this way but I didn't want to see her walk all the way from 50th and Pizza Hut home at this time of night. Next time though we're going to order from the take out window. A lesson learned.

Could this be the end of Priemer Ed Stalmach? I voted for Ed. I really liked his style. I thought this guy was going to be a breath of fresh air in Alberta politics. He hit all the right notes until it came to rent controls. Because of this his report card from me gets a D+. Mainly because how he handled rent controls. He said rent controls don't work in other Provinces, other cities. Rent controls stem condo and apartment development and scare developers away. Um excuse me Ed but have you seen downtown New Westminster lately? Downtown is booming with new highrise condo's going up all the time. At this writing there are about a half dozen cranes in the downtown core alone. About a dozen have been built since 1985. Since 1980 downtown New Westminster saw the building of the Law courts building, Douglas College, the Quy, the sky train and that's just for starters. And that's just downtown and BC has rent controls. Rent controls don't work in other Provinces, other Cities? Yeah right. So there could be an election coming this February. If that's the case and because how Ed handled the rent control issue, I'm casting my vote elsewhere to another political party. Ed put together a task force to look at rent controls during the hight of last Springs crisis, which still hasn't abated. The opposition suggested only limited rent controls to give renters a break. But Ed turned his back on them all and said no to rent controls. He turned his back even on his own task force recomendations. I'd vote PC again if they had a leader that addressed rent controls. To be fair to Ed, he did bring in legeslation that said apartments could only raise rents one/year. Ed introduced rental subsidy but only $500/month. If the issue of rent control is not on the docket PC then I'm casting my vote else where. Sorry Ed.

Anyway, that’s all for now.

(Pardon the typos)

e. Jim
