    4 days of hell over

I still feel some of the affects of this flu but I think by Monday I should feel well enough to go back into work. At least I have my appetite back. I ate a fried egg sandwich and a bowl of soup Anne made for me around midnight. Oh and an update on Coast tonight. Ian is on. Yea. Oh and Nashville lost tonight. Wu Who.

Anyway Anne made us a nice brunch. I enjoyed that but couldn’t eat anything now if you paid me. Then the other battle of Alberta. Calgary at Edmonton. What a game. The Oiler’s won 2-1. After that I needed to have a nap and I slept until about 11pm for the news.

Tofield and has some of the most beautiful farm land in the area. Families have been working the land for over a hundred years. Now the Tories want to strip mine a 300 square kilometer parcel of this beautiful land for it’s coal. This is madness. What we haven’t got enough tar sands oil now? I don’t know all the specifics of this yet and more information will come out in the days ahead. The Government wants to compensate the families in the area but this development will certainly scar the community. The Government really needs to rethink this.

The other shocker I heard last night on Coast. I don’t know if this is a Coast conspiracy thing or true but apparently coming up May first of this year Americans are going to have to file for some kind of security clearance to travel from ones state to the other. What about all the sports teams that travel between states? What’s that going to do? Maybe sports teams are exempt from this I don’t know. Look out it could be coming to Canada next. There’s nothing about this on the web so it sounds like it’s a Coast to Coast conspiracy thing.

Over the weekend in New Brunswick a van carrying 7 high school kids on their way home from a basketball game was struck by a semi truck in a freak accident killing all 7 in the SUV. This was a huge tragedy that made national news. My heart goes out to the families of the victims.

We’ve had some great weather this weekend although I never stepped out of the house as of Wednesday night. Yesterday morning I was up at about 5am watching “The Longest Day” on AMC. It’s kind of like Turner Classics but with commercials. Not product commercials but of up coming movies that sort of thing. I watched that until about 8am and I couldn’t stay up any more. I did the cbi thing and went right back to bed.

Well today it’s back to work after 4 days off. They weren’t really days off when I’ve been sicker then a dog. I’m going in, I’ve got my pay cheque there for me, I’ll work the hours the best I can and come home to watch Raw. I could use another week off yet. I don’t get sick days like in these cushy Union jobs. Nothing against Unions mind you.

we got up about 3pm this afternoon. I wasn’t really hungry for anything. Still no appetite for food right now. This afternoon I just laid on the couch watching a Sunday afternoon Oil Kings at Calgary. The Oil Kings were a tired hockey team. This being their first year. They had just come off a road trip playing three games in 44 hours. Calgary hadn’t played for a week. I felt bad for the kids loss but come on 3 games in 44 hours? I’d like to see some of these NFL players try and do that.

    Anyway, that’s all for now.

    e. Jim
