I got up about 6am to do the cbi thing and back to bed. I slept fairly well after that. Other then getting up to pee every now and then. I actually got up about 10:45am from a bad dream I had. I somehow in this dream got involved in some drug dealers wanting me to hold a bag of cocaine for them. It’d be worth $25K for me for one week. I thought as long as I had done that enough times to get enough for a condo and Anne and I move out of Alberta. Get ourselves settled down somewhere. Of course in my dream I kept this away from her. Once a week for 3 months. The dream ended as we fled on a Via rail train to New Westminster. I’d buy the condo and have my name listed under a false name and have my mail picked up under General Delivery. It was a weird dream. I’d never personally do anything like that. It’s too risky getting mixed up in that crap.

I also had a bit of an upset stomach and got up to watch the weather channel and then try to sleep until noon. Sparky came in to roam around in bed and woke me up at 1pm. Yikes.

It takes me 15 min to power up this computer. I suspect it has something to do with the minimum Ram originally installed in this machine. I’d caution anyone that buys a PC from Future Shop to get as much Ram as you can afford. If the PC says 256K and is priced at $500, include the Ram into the cost of the PC and spend the extra right away. A lot of these bargain basement PC’s come with minimum Ram so they can install all this bloat ware. I need Ram but I also need other things as well, like my Toner refill. Maybe I’ll get the extra Ram in the spring.

One thing the family needs here is a new TV. We bought a regular TV from Walmart when Anne had the car back in 2002. LCD and Plasma’s were still novelty items and really expensive back then. They are still expensive items today and you can’t find a regular TV anywhere but we’re shopping around. Tonight I’m going to call Shaw and ask what do we need to get an LCD HD TV up and running. We are aware of 1080P. We want a 50” screen. Our 28” Sanyo TV is losing it’s screen. Were getting this strange affect where the top 40% of the picture is slightly distorted. It’s still viewable but the viewing experience is not pleasant. Time to get a new TV. On Dennis Hurd’s blog this week he shows his screen and that’s I think he said a 42” and even that looks big. He said his living room is rather small. But you don’t just buy a TV anymore these days. Everything is a sound stereo package. The other thing is, I doubt this is a plug and play device either. There has to be something to do with the cable company. In which case if there is and if the fee is something like $30 month, then the phone will have to go. I’ll be asking these questions tonight while I’m on the phone with Shaw.

Well, other then the All Star game Sunday there’s no hockey until next week. SJ is coming to town. The Oiler’s are now 5 points out of the last playoff spot. Thing is there are about 3 other teams in the same position as the Oiler’s. If the Oiler’s can secure that last playoff spot, I believe they’ll go right to the finale. The All Star break seems to be later the usual. The NHL usually starts this about halfway through the schedule. we’re 52/82 games into the season. When the regular season ends around the first week in April, the playoffs begin.

Tonight, nothing much is going on. I’m going just into work hopefully I can get a couple more credit card bonuses and then it’s over to Audrey’s to get that Forgotten Realms book. I like the Omnibus format but the thing is you sacrifice the original cover art from the novels from the series. Also depending on how tired I am tomorrow, I hope to finally go over to City Center mall and cash in those reward points.

I also need a whole new NIMH battery system. These energizers don’t read hybrid’s on them but the package we bought from Walmart said for digital cameras etc. The thing is I recharged the batteries for my camera last Friday night for Saturday morning and now they’re dead in the camera. I can’t power up the camera period. This tells me that the batteries leak with time. I mean they’re not supposed to last for ever. For $20 you can’t go wrong. The thing is I get 4 batteries with the recharge kit. You’d think that when the batteries in the camera stop the other batteries will work. Nope. They’re dead as well. Actually they’re dead before I can even insert them into the camera. Strange. This kind of tells me that these batteries were not NIMH batteries in the first place. It doesn’t even say this on the batteries themselves. So this is another thing I need next month. I might even get the recharge kit from the reward points tomorrow and a book and lunch. Anyway, that does me for Friday.
