Weather and ice and stuff for Tuesday
    Tuesday, January 29 2008 @ 12:54 PM MST
    Contributed by: ejim_shan

I had a pretty good night home alone. Anne had called from work about 4:20pm saying she got in ok. I could have gone in but the buses were delayed and the train was running slow. I doubt Rob will give me a bad time for taking Monday off. I watched wrestling. On a scale from 1-10, I’d rate it a 6. It had some good moments in it.

After wrestling I worked on scene # 2 of H. I like what I got even though there’s way to much dialogue. I did some foreshadowing of about maybe 20 words and I did about 1,070 words on the day. I have 3,472 words so far. Keep in mind it’s only the rough draft subject to change.

I went and took the garbage out about 9:15pm and couldn’t believe all the snow out there. Temperature wise it wasn’t that bad and the wind had died down. I met Anne coming in from work hollering after me at the other end of the building. We got a lot of snow out there and more is on the way.

Today I’m going in because the roads will most likely be cleared even though transit might experience some delays it won;t keep me from the job. I’m going to go to bed and listen to Coast for awhile and warm up under the covers.

    This morning:

The big news lately in Oil country is Darryl Katz’s bid to buy the Edmonton Oiler’s. He up’d the anti of shares bringing the price of the team from $180 million to $200 million. Katz right now owns 70% of the team. Any remaining share holders have until February 5th to secure the deal. The only thing I haven’t heard and maybe I missed it is his commitment to keep the team here in Edmonton. I’m sure he has made a statement to that affect in the press. If Katz buys the Oiler’s and keeps the team here, then it might be a good thing. The Edmonton Investors Group turning the team over to Katz represents and end of an era. I think they went from 1997-2008. Almost 10 years. The front end and coaching system took the Oiler’s to the Stanley Cup final in ‘06. That same organization and most of the players are still here.

I got up this morning about 6:45am to do the cbi thing and back into bed under the covers to warm up. I slept ok from there. I think I got a full 8 hours of sleep last night.

Tonight, I’m going to brave the cold and any bus and train delays. Get or not any fall out from missing Monday. If Rob gives me shit for that, then I’ll be out looking for another job. I don’t think he will though. As for tonight the big story will be the weather there and back from work, unless I get suspended for missing Saturday and Monday. Then I will be looking for that other job. I don’t think it will come down to that however.

Also tonight the Oiler’s are back at work at Rexal place playing SJ Sharks tonight. I’ll be following that game on the radio. Hopefully the Oiler’s off ice drama won’t interfere with their on ice performance. So, I’ll be listening to the game tonight and hard at work. Coming home could be a challenge because of the weather. There might be some transit delays.

    Anyway, that’s all for now.

    e. Jim
