A long weekend coming up.

Yesterday afternoon I left into work at 4pm. No problem’s going into work. I got to read 4 pages on the train of “The New Space Opera.” Walking across the parking lot looked like oatmeal. Difficult to walk in. My dialer was empty and I got a headset (at a premium around there) and Rob was there for a bit having a couple of laughs with us. One of the bosses was there from Calgary doing a “fact finding mission” wondering why the night shift is so successful here in Edmonton. I had a slow start but ended up with a decent total at the end of the break and we switched to AES. I got a $100 credit card sale and a $25 credit card sale and a $630 total for the end of the night. Not to bad. The Oiler SJ game didn’t get underway until 8:30pm so I would be able to watch some of it.

Anyway, Greg came around with the cheques. Everything is right with mine including my hours and OTH bonus. I got out of there at 8:55pm and hurried to catch my train. I could hear it pull in as I was half way down the stairs and I barely caught the train heading home. I got home and the game was in the first intermission sitting at 2-0. Wow. Anne ordered us a Happy Valentines day pizza from Dominos. Their pizza was so thin it was pathetic. It Didn’t have that nice rising crust that Pizza 73 has. The base of the pizza was no thinner then a burrito shell. As thin as a McDonalds wrap. That’s not pizza. I prefer to make my own using a cheese flatbread and make my own toppings. I lightly brush vegetable oil on the pizza and sprinkle on my toppings. Then bake and it’s a lot nicer then what’s served up these days.

Anyway, the Oiler’s won 3-2 but just barely. We got Chicago on our ass and Saint Louis a point ahead of us. Both of those teams won. Just 6 points out of a playoff spot. But if every team in our Conference is in the same position as us plays well, those 6 points look like a long way away.

At the moment I’m looking at researching a Blackberry or a Treo. An external speaker is a must for hockey games and for sports scores as text messages for playing Sports select. I need an SD media card slot for my music and photo’s. Of course I need to access the Internet to get my blog rolls as they come in and access to my website and website surfing. Since I’m going to dabble a bit into the markets (JT says I can start with as little as $200 dollars.) I want something that shows how my stocks are doing at any given time. I also want to be able to read e books and my own work off the Blackberry screen as well. There’s about 4 different models I'm looking at. I like the wide screen Blackberry’s. I also want to get access to YouTube and a video and regular camera wouldn’t be so bad either. I might be asking for a lot. Also, I don’t need wifi with an Internet plan. Actually the Blackberry isn’t as pricy as I thought it was. The Treo is even more expensive then a Blackberry.

Also this weekend is Family day. It means I get most of Saturday off and 2 days. 2 days I can concentrate and work on H. once I get going it’s hard to stop. I think I put more effort into planning this novel then I am writing it.

Also this family day weekend the Oiler’s are playing Vancouver Saturday night. I’m looking forward to that.

Next week our lodge has the EA degree. I’ve got the first half of the WTcommitted to memory. I just need the 2nd part and I’ll be doing that this weekend as well. I’m not actually doing the part but I want to be there as a back up in case the guy can’t make it. But we are also going to have a few other EA’s coming up this Spring. I’ve got my name in for that. At the next installation I hope to take a chair.

Coast is boring tonight. Topic: “Mind over matter.” I’d rather have open lines then soft shows like these. Their line up gets even worse, Saturday: Underachievers, Sunday: Remote viewing. So we get as of last night 3 soft shows in a row. Sunday: Finally: Jim Marrs on UFO’s.

Anyway, that’s all for now

e. Jim
