The Oiler/Canuck game held a lot of promise. Both clubs were really going at it tooth and nail. The Oiler’s had the game tied at 2 in the 3rd but couldn’t hold up against the Canucks in the end there. The Oiler’s ended up losing 4-2 but the Canucks got the last goal into an open net at the end of the 3rd. The game was played with a lot of emotion from both sides. Vancouver was the better team last night. This is not indicative of the fact that the Oiler’s lead the series 3-2. Next grudge match is here in Edmonton on March 3rd I think.
On Coast tonight is probably the worst topic I think they have had in what was a dismal week of shows: Psychologist Dr. Leonard Sax will discuss the various factors contributing to the steady decline of performance, ambition, and fertility in America's boys and young men. Coast is really scarping the bottom of the barrel Saturday night. I'd even settle for a rebroadcast then this crap. The best show is Jim Mars coming up tomorrow on UFO’s.
This story by Stephan Baxter really blows. Probably worse then the first story but I’m grinding through it until the very boring end. I’ll never read Stephan Baxter again. Way over my head. I don’t get his stories, I mean if this is any indication. The "story" is dry with little action. Not my type of story. I’m not even finished with it but on a scale from 1-10 so far, I’d give it a 1. Boring as hell.
I’m doing some more research on the writers workbench software I’m looking at. I’ll need MS Word to run with it. Or Word XP. I’m a little week on it’s system requirements but this is a very comprehensive looking piece of software for $115. I'll be looking at others.
The weekend won't be a total loss. Knight Rider on tonight at 7pm and Jim Mars on at midnight on Coast. I like Jim Mars. Better then Alex Jones but I could even take listening to Jone's crap over the topic Ian has on for tonight.
So after I blog this I'm going to gather my H material. I've had a bit of a hiatus off but I want to get back into it this weekend. The goal is to have the rough draft set up by the end of May. I want to get F completed as well and send it out for September but I've got a long way to go on that. Maybe I'll have a completed product in January '09. In the meentime, I want to fix "Crosshairs" and send that out. I could never understand the mentality of just jumping right int a novel without any planing. I've tried writing that way before with no outline and I always get stuck. But this book won't be a large one. Maybe 80,000 words at best. I spend a lot of time planning my novels and story board them.
I've got an hour here and I'm going to watch the "Annie Oakley show" before bed. The one with Dale Gavis and Brad Johnson. ABC ran 81 episodes for 3 years in the mid 1950's. I like the old shows like that. Thre's something comforting about them. You know there is almost going to be a happy ending. I also like "The Rifleman" and "The Cisco kid" radio show. Hard to believe they made 600 radio episodes but only 156 television episodes. I used to like to read some of the old pocket book Westerns as well.
I took my graval pill half an hour ago and I think I'm going to have a pretty good night's sleep. I hope, I need one. Also, I'll be watching for WWE's "No way out." It's on today as well. I'm begining to feel the effects of the pill, so I'll be bloging this. More later on.
Anyway, that’s all for now
e. Jim
