Anne rode with me into Corona and Tim’s. I bought her a coffee and I got a regular and a Boston cream donut and I moved over to Sever’s vacant station and we did AES. What a dismal night. I ended up with $270 and no credit cards sales. Rob’s making a big deal about the disclaimer again and that puts a big time damper on everyone. Sales are always down when we have to use the disclaimer. It was ugly tonight to say the least and I wasn’t a happy camper. I really got to quite this job and get something else. Preferably nothing that has to do with this crap. Anyway I was glad to get out of there and I caught the train to HSC and doubled back home. I knew I wouldn’t be able to watch the Edmonton/Wings game. I got home and it was all but over. The Oiler’s made no trades at all today and that’s ok. There could be bigger fish to fry in the UFA July 1st. Off season. Anne made us some Taco’s but they were really dried out and I ended up coughing and hacking all over the place. Uggh.
A couple of science fiction books I’m looking at getting: The Solaris Book of New Science Fiction: Volume 2 and GALACTIC EMPIRES edited by Gardner Dozois. Also, “The New Space Opera 2” whenever that comes out. Also, “The Dreaming Void” by Peter F. Hamilton when it’s out in paperback of course.
On Coast tonight: Consumer privacy advocate Katherine Albrecht presents an update on RFID and chip implants. First Hour: Dr. Gary Ridenour will discuss the latest issues surrounding a possible Bird Flu epidemic. Wednesday: Topic: Noah’s Ark, Thursday: World Tension Steve Quayle
About my own book H, I didn’t get to write anything today. I’m going to make an effort at writing on it today. This is a tough novel to write. Not because it’s so ambitious or anything but rather it’s difficult to slide into any kinds of a groove. This really bothers me because it’s such a good premise and has a lot of potential. The reason why this book is so hard to write is because I’m trying to capture a certain essence of the book or a theme I want to run throughout the course of the story and I’ve never written from this point of view before.
Anyway, that’s all for now
